July 22
12:01am – Drayton Valley – 53 avenue – Reported that a male had attempted to break into complainant’s truck and had fled on foot with a female. Members attended and located a white Tahoe with a stolen licence plate. Tahoe was not stolen but not registered. Tahoe towed by DV Towing. SOCs had fled when complainant came out to see what was going on. SUI
2:48am – Drayton Valley – 52 street – Report of a fistfight – complainant and subject of complaint both intoxicated. Complainant challenged SOC to a fight and both parties separated immediately after. Complainant wanted the SOC spoke to and did not wish to provide a statement.
8:30am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a vehicle vs deer – Highway 22 and 50 Street, complainant reports while driving he struck a deer. Smashed window and currently waiting for tow.
9:31am – Brazeau County – Report of a theft of quad & quad trailer. Complainant reports sea can was broken into, cut the handle into sea can, black Polaris quad – no licence plate, quad trailer was taken. SUI
09:41am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant attended the detachment to report that while travelling west on Hwy 22, a deer entered the roadway and collided with the vehicle. Deer left the scene. No injuries.
10:44am – Brazeau County – 911 family dispute – complainant reports that his uncle and cousin are threatening his life. Members attended and spoke to all parties. Both parties had allegedly uttered threats. Family issues from over time. Property owner has given both parties permission to live/ work on the farm. All parties agreed to stop fighting and to ignore each other. Cannot force each other to leave farm as property owner has give them all permission. No criminal offence.
10:50am – Drayton Valley – 45 street – Report of a theft from vehicle that occurred overnight. Complainant states that her wallet was stolen from vehicle, nothing else stolen, vehicle was unlocked. Complainant states that she has called credit card companies and bank to cancel all cards.
11:12am – Brazeau County – Report of mischief to a vehicle. Subject of complainant called to say that she scratched and damage ex-boy friend’s truck. Member had no idea what caller was talking about, so she quickly cautioned her over the phone. Member then called and spoke with the truck owner and he advised that he had already spoken with RCMP member. SUI
1:01 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant attended the detachment to report while travelling southbound on RR 125 they had to swerve to avoid 3 deer. While doing so, they hit the guardrail.
2:56pm – Brazeau County – Report of a possible impaired driver – Complainant reports he watched the SOC smoke weed all day and has just departed the property in his truck. Unknown license plate. SOC lives in Buck Lake. Member made patrols but was unable to locate the vehicle.
5:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 20 avenue – Complainant reports that SOC in GMC has several children in the bed of the truck. Member attended and spoke with SOC. SOC advised that they were on their way back to the reserve and had no other way of transporting the family, as this is how they arrived in town with one vehicle. Member gave a warning to driver to drive slowly back to the reserve.
7:08pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant called in to report that there was a male laying on his back in Walmart parking lot and wanted police to make sure he was ok. Member attended location and located male who was not from town and was sleeping in the grass. Male advised that he was ok and went on his way.
8:40pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reports her drinking friend poured a beer out on her. Complainant told her friend to leave. The friend left and returned to his own residence. Member spoke to the complainant who was also intoxicated and she indicated that she did not think her friend would return tonight. Complainant indicated that members did not need to attend.
9:42pm – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – Town CPO found intoxicated male walking into traffic and requested assistance from RCMP. Member attended as it was second time dealing with the male. Male was now intoxicated, male was arrested for Public intoxication and lodged in cells.
July 23
1:11am – Brazeau County – Complainant called in reporting a suspicious vehicle on her road, member attended area and located a vehicle. Vehicle driver advised he was looking for a lost tire. Vehicle had valid insurance and registration.
4:09am – Drayton Valley – Econo Rest – Complainant called in reporting that there had been an overdose at the Econo rest and that she had received threats from a residence on site. Members attended location. Complainant had already left, complainant did not want to provide her location but advise she was on her way to hospital for covid treatment. Complainant was very uncooperative. Member spoke with the SOC who denied making threats.
7:42am – Brazeau County- Cynthia – 911 report of suspicious activity, the SOC vehicle is a baby blue 4 door car, possibly a Pontiac, car has a tow rope hooked to a truck and appears to be trying to pull out the catalytic converter. The male SOC is scoping out an abandoned building. Member attended and located vehicle. As member approached the vehicle, the vehicle took off.
8:34am – Hwy 621 – Complainant attended the detachment to report that while travelling east on HWY 621, a deer entered the roadway from the south and collided with the vehicle. Deer was dead and off the road in the north ditch. No injuries.
9:32am – Brazeau County – Cynthia – 911 – Report of a gas and dash from RaceTrack gas in Cynthia. Two males and one female. Driving a U-Haul truck, left towards Lodgepole. $175.41 gas stolen, male tried to pay on card, but it was declined, then male took off. Members located the suspect vehicle, which was reported stolen from Edmonton, vehicle fled from traffic stop. Vehicle was involved in multiple crimes from Hinton, Edson and Ft. Saskatchewan. RCMP members kept suspect vehicle under surveillance and were able to coordinate a spike belt deployment near Calmar. The three suspects were taken into custody. SUI
10:45am – Brazeau County – Report of vandalism that occurred overnight. Complainant said that his cousin said he would mess with his things the previous night. Complainant found that the fuel line for his truck has been pulled out and diesel was spraying around. Complainant said he has replaced the fuel line already and that there were no witnesses that saw who did it and they did not have any cameras in place. Complainant said he would be installing cameras in the near future.
3:13pm – Drayton Valley – RCMP Detachment – Male attended the detachment to ask about being involved with a firing squad. He was unclear if he wanted to be a participant or the subject. Rambled on for about 25 minutes. Had some comments about the Prime Minister being fed with a silver spoon as well as frustration with the justice system. Ultimately no grounds to arrest for MHA.
3:31pm – Drayton Valley – 46 street – Complainant reports $15000 worth of arborist gear stolen from his truck. This includes ropes, rigging equipment, harness, gaffs, spikes, misc. parts and tool for maintenance of chainsaws and other equipment. SUI
5:23pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Report of a suspicious male, welfare concern, just seen male approx. 40 years old, wearing a black t shirt, blue jeans, reddish shoulder length scraggly hair, facial scruff, black sock and one hospital slipper is walking down the road. Male is either intoxicated or confused. Member located Steve HART walking past the hospital. He had spent the night in the hospital and had just been released. Male refused ride from member. Male was walking to the Econorest.
5:37pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant received call from female in Ontario. Female told complainant that her credit card had been used in states for $1300 and $400. Female said she would put the complainant in contact with RBC security. Complainant then received a call from a male who said his name Timothy Blake he asked the complainant to purchase gift cards and wanted the numbers. Complainant purchased $6500 worth of gift cards and gave male the numbers. RBC notified. Since they are gift cards, they cannot be traced.
7:02pm – Drayton Valley – 48 avenue – Complainant called in to report the property she manages was broken into, Property had not been attended by the complainant in passed month, property is inhabited and was a bank repossessed property, house was full of garbage and nothing was left behind to steal only garbage and minimum damage done, no surveillance and no suspect.
10:17pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant called in to report he went to his storage unit and the place closed up while he was there and left him stuck inside the compound. Member attended location and had code to open the gate. Complainant was let out of the compound.
10:41pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant called in to report that a UHAUL truck unknown licence plate drove into the opposite lane of traffic and was now stopped in ditch. Patrols made and truck could not be located.
July 24
12:23am – Brazeau County – Report of a neighbour dispute/noise complaint – Complainant reports that her neighbour keeps honking his horn in order to try to get the complainants dog to stop barking. The neighbour has also texted the complainant saying, “I hear your dog barking, I’ll honk to scare off what it is barking at”. Member called and spoke with the complainant. Honking stopped at 2300hrs complainant is just frustrated and did not know whom else to call. Complainant does not want members to speak to the neighbour because he will just get mad at her. Maybe the complainant should stop her dog from barking.
12:33am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Complainant called in to report a male passed out on the walking path. Patrols made but male was not located.
1:26am – Drayton Valley – 51 avenue – 911 report of an intoxicated male. In front of ATB financial by the bakery, male on the ground bleeding and trying to get up. Possible fight that occurred. Members attended and located male who was bloody, intoxicated and stated he was jumped. Friends took male to hospital. Broken nose. Members conducted patrols. SUI
10:18am – Brazeau County – Report of an abandon vehicle chassis. Complainant reports the abandon cab and chassis are ratchet-strapped to a power pole. Member attended and confirmed truck was stolen. Truck cab towed.
10:21am – Brazeau County – Report of harassing communications from complainants ex-wife had been emailing him about his photos on Facebook and other things that were a non-issue, complainant has blocked her on Facebook and believes that she is using their daughter’s Facebook to look at his profile. Complainant did not want any action taken, mainly wanted the incident documented, they both have lawyers that are documenting any exchanges between them. SOC will be spoken to about not trying to reach out to the complainant.
3:56pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Report of a broke down trailer on Hwy 39 that is in a bad location on the Hwy. Member spoke to the trailer owner and they advised that it had been pulled into a drive way so the tire could be changed.
5:35pm – Brazeau County – Request to assist children’s services to help remove children from household. Member attended residence with CFS. There was no one home at the time.
9:05 pm – Brazeau county – Family dispute between mother and daughter. Daughter stayed at a friends house for the night.
10:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant calling to report vehicles stunting, doing doughnuts and speeding. One vehicle is a blue Chevrolet Silverado, very loud. Member attended and spoke with all parties in the parking lot. Advised of the consequences of their behaviour if they continue.
10:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting people on horses at the McDonalds Drive thru. Member conducted patrols, individuals and horses not located.
11:15 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant reporting they see 2 persons walking around with flashlights outside property. Members conducted patrols, no one located.
11:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting noise. Member patrolled the area location given by complainant was wrong. Second complaint received. Members attended, wedding going on, asked to keep down the music.
July 25
12:42 am – Brazeau county – Request from EMS to assist at ATV rollover. Members attended, no injuries.
1:05 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant reporting large party, vehicles are speeding and coming and going. Members patrolled the area and ensured everyone got home safely.
3:13 am – Drayton Valley – Complainat of assault received. Members attended and located 3 individuals who advised they had encountered a screaming bobcat. They screamed in turn.
6:54 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Complainant reporting they can hear a man yelling. Female also being loud. Members attended and spoke with the parties. Male was upset as they were late for work. Family dispute.
7:20 am – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a tan older model Chevrolet half ton. Vehicle passed the complainant at an excessive speed.
9:31 am – Drayton Valley – Matador Hotel – Complainant calling to report a possible break and enter. Building has been boarded up and complainant observed the boards at the back had been torn off. Members attended and cleared the building. Some evidence that someone had been in there. Property rep contacted to secure building.
10:57 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a bonfire south of the coach Motel. A lot of people around. Members attended and located a controlled fire in a fire pit.
11:38 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Member on patrol noted a chainlink fence to a lease site was damaged. A lot of garbage on the site. Members contacted lease site owner who attended and secured the fence.
12:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they found a toolbox on the road. Members attended and located a blue IKEA bag with tools in it.
1:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued violation ticket for using a cell phone while driving.
3:46 pm – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Complainant reporting speeding, ongoing issue. Male keeps driving past house speeding. Vehicle is a white Chevrolet Extended cab. Vehicle is owned by contractor in town.
3:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of liquor. Male wearing a hat, medium build with a black t shirt stole a bottle of vodka. Same individual also stole from Mixers. Members patrolled the area with negative results.
6:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting a dispute. Members attended and spoke with individuals involved. Family dispute which had ended prior to arrival.
July 26
12:14 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting excessive noise. People outside being boisterous. Member attended area, no noise heard and no one noted outside.
6:09 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. Whit Nissan Altima has been parked in the parking lot for several days. Member attended and spoke with the Registered owner who advised they had mechanical issues with vehicle. Owner advised they would be moving the vehicle today.
9:04 am – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant called to report a break and enter to work yard. Approximately $10,000 worth of equipment stolen.
9:07 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting online harassment. Individual took pictures of complainants children off their facebook account.
9:32 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Complainant reporting a disturbance. Two individuals are arguing and things are escalating. Members attended. Individuals arguing are in the process of breaking up and were arguing about the vehicle. Parties were separated.
9:56 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of tools and equipment over the weekend. Headlights were cut out of the hydro vac.
10:25 am – Brazeau county – Hwy 620 – Complainant advised they were travelling westbound on Hwy 620 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.
2:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting their vehicle was stolen while they were working. Credit card was attempted to be used at the Fas Gas. Matter is still under investigation. Vehicle recovered later in the day.
3:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Members on patrol observed a vehicle which had been stolen from Ponoka. Foot chase ensued with suspect. Vehicle towed.
4:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant attended the detachment to request a wellbeing check on their neighbour. Member attended location. Neighbour who is well known to police was fine.
4:22 pm – Brazeau county – RR 81 – Complainant reporting someone left a vehicle on their property 8 years ago and never came back. Member advised they were welcome to have it towed.
6:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Several complaints received regarding an intoxicated male. Male wearing a blue checkered shirt and beige pants is stumbling around with a liquor bottle. Members attended and located the male who was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. Male arrested for public intoxication and warrant.
9:22 pm – Drayton Valley – EMS called to report a missing patient. Male had apparently been stung by a bee. Third party caller. Members were able to locate someone who had seen the male who was fine and not in distress.
9:40 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting squatters at trailer which had been condemned by AHS. Member attended, neighbours were cleaning up the area.
9:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 48A Street – Complainant reporting their daughter just drove away. They are concerned for their welfare. Members were able to determine daughter was heading to BC. Mother no longer worried.
10:44 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed an abandoned vehicle. Registered Owner contacted.
July 27
6:50 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – EMS request assistance. A female is experiencing hallucinations. Members attended, Female went with EMS. No further issues.
8:21 am – Drayton Valley – Alarm received at Holy Trinity. Member attended and met with maintenance staff. False alarm.
9:04 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. 4 individuals arrived and climbed the communication tower in order to jump onto the single story building. Members attended. Subjects not located.
12:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Hospital requesting assistance with individual who had been brought in by EMS earlier. Members attended and assisted in calming down individual.
12:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant calling to report a white delivery van had cut them off and they got into a yelling match. Member attended and patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
12:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to obey traffic device.
12:59 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed a blue Mitsubishi off the road in a grass ditch. Vehicle not stolen. Individual was picking berries.
2:01 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 753 – Complainant advised they were south on Hwy 753 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.
2:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant called to advise that their licence plate had been stolen off their vehicle.
3:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 47A Avenue – Complainant attended detachment in order to request a restraining order against ex. Complainant advised that their ex had broken into their residence. Member provided information on how to obtain restraining order.
3:44 pm – Drayton Valley – WalMart – Complainant called to report a hot cat in a vehicle in the parking lot. Member attended and spoke with owner who advised that the AC had been on and the windows were open. Cat was sleeping.
4:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 55A Street – Complainant attended the detachment to report a female wandering around with her breasts visible. Member attended and located known female. Female was covering herself with a long coat like a bathrobe. Member had female dress herself appropriately then provided a ride to residence. Female warned about exposing themselves.
4:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Avenue – Complainant reporting a vehicle and person on a bike scoping out the construction site. Member attended, complainant had made several attempts to speak with individuals, however they continued to take off. Member spoke with the Registered owner of vehicle who advised they were waiting for son to finish work.
4:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 42 Avenue – Complainant called to report an intoxicated male is going door to door asking to do yard work. Members attended area and located known male. Male provided a courtesy ride home.
4:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male lurking around. Member attended, male not located.
5:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting threats on facebook. Matter is still under investigation.
6:39 pm – Brazeau county – RR 63 – Complainant reporting cabin, house and quanset had been entered and several items taken. Members attended and cleared the buildings.
8:33 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle on a lease road. Member attended, vehicle was gone upon arrival.
9:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a shoplifter. Male came into the store and grabbed coffee, chips and candy and then left. Male described as tall, wearing short pants.
July 28
12:11 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting a fight near the library. People are yelling. Members attended and located an individual who advised one of the parties got into a dark car and took off.
4:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a female came into the post office and was acting strangely. Female had left prior to arrival of members. Patrols in the area made with negative results.
5:31 pm – Drayton Valley – Several complaints received regarding a Drone flying near the hospital. Members attended and spoke with owner of Drone and made them aware of the laws regarding the flying of drones.
8:46 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant called to report hearing gunshots from the crown land near the dam.
9:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Members on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to produce registration.
9:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 call received. Members conducted patrols in the area of the call. Members attended hospital and determined that individual had gone to the hospital experiencing chest pains.
10:11 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to turn in a wallet they had found.
11:43 pm – Parkland County – Complainant calling to report a campfire in a field. Member patrolled the area. No flames observed.
