The Alberta RCMP Community Response team has arrested two individuals after locating a stolen truck in Stony Plain.
Officials say these arrests were made with assistance from Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services, Parkland RCMP and the Parkland RCMP Drug Unit.
Mounties say they located a stolen Dodge Ram on April 22 and following a search of the vehicle and the surrounding area resulted in the seizure of
- 6.8 grams of fentanyl.
- 3.5 grams of methamphetamine.
- One bolt-action rifle.
- Ammunition.
- Stolen license plate.
Police say a 31-year-old female resident of Entwistle and a 35-year-old male resident of Sturgeon County are both facing several charges, including:
- Possession of Stolen Property;
- Possession of Fentanyl;
- Possession of Methamphetamine;
- Possession of a Firearm without being the holder of a licence;
- Possession of a Firearm knowing that they were without the holder of a licence;
- Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle; and
- Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public.
In addition, the 31-year-old female was charged with:
- Fail to Comply with a Release Order.
And the 35-year-old male was also charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited to Possess
- Operating a Motor Vehicle while prohibited from doing so.
The female suspect was remanded into custody and was back in court on April 28. The male suspect was also remanded into custody and was back in court on April 30.
