Multi-vehicle collision on Highway 16 leads to fatality

One person involved in a multi-vehicle collision on Friday, March 28, has passed away as a result of their injuries.

Parkland RCMP say they began receiving reports of collisions on Highway 16 near Highway 60 just after 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, Mounties say they observed several collisions and a semi-truck in the ditch.

Officials say emergency responders tended to six individuals, including a 61-year-old woman who unfortunately passed away as a result of her injuries. The five other individuals were taken to hospital for further treatment, one in critical condition.
