October 31
3:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported his wallet had been stolen from his unlocked truck. Cards from the wallet had been used at a couple locations in town. Theft occurred on the afternoon of Oct. 29, under investigation.
3:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Information received about possible child physical abuse. Member liaised with CFS who will be dealing with the issues.
8:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Member on patrol witnessed a truck in the wrong lane, heading toward the member. The driver corrected and passed by, member also noticed no tail lights on. A traffic stop was conducted and a MAS (mandatory alcohol screening) demand given. The driver provided breath samples resulting in a “caution”. The driver was issued a three-day driving suspension and the truck was impounded.
November 1
3:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported that while at a function on the evening of Oct. 31, someone stole his keys and wallet from his coat, and then rummaged through his truck. The complainant was able to cancel his cards prior to them being used, and the culprits very considerately left his keys on his truck seat.
November 2
2:52 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Members responded to a hang-up 911 call and upon investigation, determined a domestic assault had occurred. The male assailant was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing and subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in court at a later date.
10:48 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 494 – Complainant reported that a truck had rolled into the ditch near Range Road 75 and that the driver left in an SUV. Member attended and while on scene an SUV with the driver on board returned. The driver was issued an ASD (approved screening device) demand and provided breath samples which resulted in a “fail”. The driver was issued a provincial impaired driving suspension and his truck, once removed from the ditch, was impounded.
November 3
7:11 a.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Members attended the homeless camp with firefighters for a report of an overdose. Paramedics were responding, but would be delayed. Firefighters administered Narcan and were able to return the female to consciousness. Paramedics transported her to hospital.
2:34 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that while her car was parked the previous night, someone stole her purse. The complainant had cancelled all her cards and advised that the car wasn’t locked due to an issue with the lock mechanism. Under investigation.
9:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported that a known female was currently shoplifting and likely to leave via a back door due to previous incidents. Member attended and arrested the female on outstanding warrants, but as she had not yet left the business a shoplifting charge wasn’t practical. The complainant advised this has happened before and that supporting evidence would be forwarded so she can be charged for a prior incident. Under investigation.
November 4
11:59 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported that a 2011 utility trailer with Alberta plate 4CF-393 attached that had been left at a location for a pumpkin drop off had been stolen. Video surveillance shows a newer black Ram pickup, but suspects and plate number were not identifiable. Under investigation.
12:08 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that sometime overnight someone tried unsuccessfully to steal his truck. Damage done to the ignition and door lock.
2:19 p.m. – Brazeau County – 54 Ave – Complainant reported that his 2005 white F250 pickup and a separate license plate were stolen, occurred sometime over the previous night. Under investigation.
7:49 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported that a sight glass was stolen from a lease site.
11:02 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Member on patrol near Range Road 91 noticed fresh tracks in the snow at a lease site. Upon entry to the site an older SUV was leaving. Traffic stop attempted but the SUV fled back toward town. Member did not pursue but was able to follow the tracks back to town. A number of known locations and residences were checked but the SUV wasn’t located. Under investigation.
November 5
2:42 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 Ave – Members responded to a glass break alarm at a business and confirmed a break and enter had occurred. Significant damage done and an undetermined amount of products stolen. Culprits arrived in a truck that is confirmed as stolen. Video surveillance obtained and police have suspects in mind. Under investigation.
6:15 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported his 2006 F350 was stolen from his hotel parking lot sometime overnight. Under investigation.
6:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported that a female in an SUV was driving erratically, cut him off and was now at Walmart. Member attended and spoke to the female driver who apologized but also stated that the complainant had been following her and had been verbally aggressive. No charges.
November 6
7:39 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported her son had been threatened by another youth with a knife. Under investigation.
12:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported three teens had shoplifted from a store. The complainant was able to provide information on at least one of the suspects. Under investigation.
12:58 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported two shoplifters in a store. Described as an older couple seen leaving in a newer dark coloured sporty four-door vehicle. Under investigation.
1:06 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported that the previous night her adult son was having a “meltdown” because no one would buy him a lighter, and had been threatening to damage something. This morning she noticed her vehicle dented and damaged; she then stated she didn’t want police to attend. Members aware that the male was on conditions related to a recent release order. Members attended and arrested the male for Resisting Arrest, Failing to Comply with Release Order and Failing to Comply with Probation. At time of writing he is in custody awaiting a telephone bail hearing. Investigation ongoing into the damage to the car.
11:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Members attended to a report of an elderly male deceased at an assisted living facility. Death not suspicious and the Medical Examiner will not be investigating further.
