Drayton Valley residents are being informed of a Public Hearing taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 16 regarding a development permit application that would see the addition of another building to the Shangri-La Lodge Seniors Complex.
The Public Hearing will take place at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chambers at the Civic Centre.
This development permit application would see the addition of a three-story, 27-unit building as part of the Shangri-La Lodge Seniors Complex. Officials say the area is currently zoned for High Density Residential. However, the applicant wishes to make the following variations to the Land Use Bylaw:
- Only 77 of the required 100 parking stalls
- An increase of the number of units allowed per parcel from 91.76 units to 108 units.
Officials say an information session will also be held on Oct. 16 to allow residents an opportunity to share comments concerns and questions directly with council. Residents are strongly encouraged to attend.
Organizers say anyone who wishes to speak at the public hearing must submit their comments in writing via email (plandev@draytonvalley.ca), or in person, to the Planning and Development department before Thursday, Oct. 10.
