The Town of Drayton Valley has received a $90,000.00 grant through the province’s Small Community Opportunity Program.
Town officials say this money will be used to explore the feasibility of developing an industrial hemp industry in Drayton Valley in partnership with BioComposites Group and the Alberta Hemp Alliance.
Officials say this initiative would result in the production of automotive and construction panels, and believe this program has the potential to foster innovative partnerships and create jobs in both the agriculture and manufacturing industries.
More information on the Small Community Opportunity Program can be found on the Government of Alberta website.
