According to Parkland RCMP, the shelter-in-place order for the area of Highway 627, between Range Road 24 and Highway 770 has now been lifted.
On March 14, at 4:04 a.m., Parkland RCMP say they responded to an alarm call at a business in Stony Plain. Upon arrival, police say they located suspects in a truck attempting to break into the business. Mounties say the suspects immediately rammed two police cars and fled the area.
Police say responding officers were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device and the vehicle was disabled on Highway 627. Both suspects fled on foot and officials say an RCMP police dog was deployed to assist.
RCMP say a shelter-in-place order was issued due to a concern for the safety of area residents. Police say they have been unable to locate the suspects at this time and the shelter-in-place has now been lifted because it is believed that the suspects are no longer in the area.
Officials say no officers were injured during this incident.
