Mounties in Thorsby are investigating a fatal snowmobile crash in Leduc County over the weekend.
On March 2, 2024, at approximately 11:02 p.m., Thorsby RCMP received a report of a serious single off road vehicle collision on Range Road 10 in Leduc County.
Thorsby RCMP attended but Emergency Medical Services were already on scene, say police. According to Mounties, the 43-year-old male driver, a resident of Leduc County, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Thorsby RCMP’s preliminary investigation indicates the male was travelling at a high rate of speed through a wooded area when the collision occurred.
Thorsby RCMP say they have been in contact with next of kin but RCMP will continue to liaise with the family and the community.
Alberta RCMP wish to extend their condolences to the loved ones of the deceased.
