Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. June 15
9:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St – Complainant reported being assaulted by a female who had hit the complainant in the face with a bat-like stick. Members located the suspect later and arrested her. Though she provided a fake name, members knew her identity. 24-year-old Victoria RAIN was charged with assault with a weapon, obstructing a peace officer and identity fraud. RAIN was held in custody for a telephone bail hearing and released by a Justice of the Peace to appear at a later date.
10:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Members responded to a report of a break and enter. A female was located inside an apartment, even though she had been evicted by bailiffs several days prior. 32-year-old Megan EDWARDS was arrested for break and enter and held for a telephone bail hearing. EDWARDS was remanded in custody.
June 16
8:06 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report being scammed via an offer of employment. Complainant was sent a cheque from his new “employer” and instructed to buy gift cards and send those to “customers.” Under investigation.
3:46 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22/River Hill – Anonymous complainant requested traffic control due to traffic backing up from a construction project. Members did not attend as there are already professional traffic control personnel on site.
11:15 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported a dog barking all day inside a residence. Complainant concerned for the dog and possibly occupants. Members attended but found no dog barking and no answer at the door. Complainant then recalled seeing a light on earlier that is off now. Most likely the residents were sleeping.
June 17
2:13 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/54 St – Members attended to an abandoned 911 call and located a female who said that her purse had been stolen earlier in the day and now she wanted someone charged. Complainant stated several names that might be involved. Under investigation.
4:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Twp Rd 491 – Members attended to assist Fire Dept. A tanker truck leaving the scale had the trailer come unattached from the tractor. Significant spill resulted. Incident being dealt with by other agencies.
June 19
11:46 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR73 – Complainant reported receiving a very convincing call advising he had won a lottery. Complainant was told to go buy gift cards so his winnings could be put on the card. Incident was confirmed as a scam, advice provided to complainant who was not out any cash.
June 20
9:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – RCMP – 42-year-old Dustin LANGE of Drayton Valley turned himself in, and was held for a telephone bail hearing on charges including Obstructing a Peace Officer, Theft, Break and Enter, and Failing to Comply with a Release Order. LANGE was held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded.
10:47 a.m. – Lodgepole – Complainant reported theft of fuel from a lawn tractor that occurred over the past couple weeks. Complainant also reported a possible bomb left behind. Members attended and located a makeshift siphoning device, which did appear suspicious. Culprits had broken into a shed and drilled the mowers gas tank, but appear to have left their spoils behind.
June 21
2:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Member on patrol noticed a vehicle acting suspiciously. Traffic stop initiated, driver attempted to escape by climbing a grassy embankment but members were able to intercept and stop the vehicle. An 18-year-old male provided two breath samples, both were “fail” results. He was issued a 90-day prohibition from driving and the vehicle was impounded. The driver was also issued a violation ticket as he had no license and criminal charges may result as he is on a condition to abstain from alcohol.
10:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members attended a two-vehicle collision in front of Dodson Plaza. It is believed that a vehicle Northbound in the center lane turned right, crossing in front of a vehicle that was Northbound in the curb lane. Under investigation.
June 22
8:17 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 St – Complainant reported that someone broke into her locked vehicle overnight and stole golf clubs as well as other personal items. Under investigation.
9:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported that she lost her bank card at the bar on the night of the 16th. Complainant had been unaware but is now aware that 9 fraudulent transactions were made. Under investigation.
