Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. April 27
4:59 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reported that a male in a silver Jeep stopped in the middle of the highway, got out and punched the complainant’s truck. The driver then told the complainant that he’d come to his house and beat him up. Member patrolled the area and also checked the residence of the Jeep’s owner, but the male was not located.
April 28
3:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported a suspicious incident. 11-year-old female was walking to a friend’s house when a small grey car stopped near her. The girl thought she heard one occupant say “just go do it already.” A male got out of the car and when he did the girl ran down the street. No further information available, unclear what was going on and no further reports.
April 29
12:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that his friend’s vehicle had been egged, and that as they were cleaning it off two youths yelled a derogatory term at them. With the help of the complainant the youth were located a couple blocks away. After some interrogation and sorting through lies, the two-youth admitted to the offences. They were taken home to their parents with an appropriate warning. Neither youth had any documented history.
4:55 a.m. – Parkland/Brazeau County boundary – Hwy 22/Hwy 624 – Complainant reported he got into a verbal argument with his ex, who then stopped and made him get out of the car. Members attended and found the intoxicated male who stated he’d been drinking in Tomahawk and after his girlfriend picked him up they argued about his drinking. Member unable to identify the girlfriend or obtain further information, though the male was given a ride to town – which was likely all he wanted.
April 30
3:32 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Member conducted a traffic stop on a truck seen leaving the bar. Driver showed obvious signs of impairment and subsequently provided two breath samples, both resulting in a “fail” reading. Provincial impaired driving sanctions issued and the truck was impounded. #DontDrinkAndDrive.
10:09 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Members requested to assist EMS who were having difficulty entering to check on a resident due to an aggressive dog. Members attended, the patient was deceased on arrival. Next of kin completed and the dog was being taken by a family member. Death not suspicious.
May 1
6:58 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Beckett Rd – Complainant reported an intoxicated male in a black lifted truck had almost hit some children and was on scene fighting with witnesses. Members attended and located the male driver who provided two breath samples, both “fail” results, confirming he was impaired. The male was issued provincial impaired driving sanctions and his truck was impounded. #DriveSober
7:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Ave – Members attended a location to assist paramedics in securing a scene of a possible overdose as the patient had been in possession of knives. Members ensured the scene was safe and EMS took over. Apparently, the patient had ingested some wild grass root.
May 2
4:56 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Dispatch received an open line 911 call; a female voice could be heard saying “hold on, give it to me please, and you’re an f-ing moron.” Member attended and determined that three females had an argument but all was now calm. No need for police involvement and it remains unclear which of the three is not smart.
7:12 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/54 St – Complainant reported a female trespassing. The female had been previously issued a trespass notice. Member attended but the female had already left with a tenant. Member discussed the matter with the complainant as there are some complicating factors.
10:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/43 St – Complainant requested police check on a male walking in the street. Member attended and located a male known for his amazing chalk drawings. The male was fine, just working on his sidewalk canvas.
May 3
12:13 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that her daughter and granddaughter were arguing over rent and internet usage and that there had been a struggle over a laptop. Members attended and determined there was no grounds for charges and no immediate safety concerns, just ongoing disharmony likely made worse by four generations living in one apartment. Some suggestions were given on agencies that may be helpful.
6:13 p.m. – Brazeau County – Willey West – Request to ensure the campground is empty due to current fire evacuation warnings. Member attended and a worker was found locking up the gate. At this time members were also assisting Breton RCMP with evacuating residents and securing a perimeter for ongoing firefighting in the area of Twp Rd 484 and RR 64.
