Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. October 7
9:04 a.m. – Brazeau County – Township 494 – Police were called to a beak and enter to the fire departments training area. Chain to the gate was cut and an older white Ford truck given to the fire department for training purposes was stolen. Members continue to investigate.
10:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 avenue – Theft of construction materials at the Shangra-la Lodge. Complainant reported that approximately 60 feet of coconut bedding was stolen. Member continues to investigate.
2:03 p.m. – Brazeau County – Police received a call of a theft form a lease site. Suspects broke into the shack on site. Suspects left behind items that were seized for forensic analysis. Investigation continuing.
8:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 avenue – Request for assistance in removing a female who had overstayed her welcome in complainant’s home. Member requested the complainant have the conversation about overstaying and call if they need assistance after that. Members later assisted in getting the female being asked to leave in to the shelter pods.
October 8
9:11 a.m. – Lodgepole – 50 Street – Police were called to an attempted break and enter at the Lodgepole General Store. Thieves smashed the front window but were still unable to gain access. Three suspects were seen driving a U-Haul. The investigation is continuing.
10:10 a.m.– Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Call received of a male using drugs in the stairwell of a local apartment building. While the complainant called, the male left the apartment walking east. Members made patrols for the male but did not locate him.
October 9
7:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – RR 80 – Theft of a John Deere Gator received. Complainant advised she heard a gator leave her yard and when they rushed to check, their garage was open and the gator gone. Members patrolled the area but did not locate it. Gator was located later this day while doing a break and enter into an oilfield site and the male driver was arrested and charged.
9:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Police called to an impaired driver leaving the Oil Country Tap House. Members went looking for the driver and located the vehicle with substantial damage to the front end and the windshield. Driver was not located at the time. File still under investigation.
10:50 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 82 – Police were dispatched to a complaint of individuals driving a gator trying to break into a Quonset on private property. The gator then left. Members patrolled the area and located the gator inside a compound on an oilfield lease site. Driver of the gator attempted to flee from police but in driving around the police cars he lost control and crashed into the fence. Male arrested for break and enter and possession of stolen property. Gator had been stolen earlier in the morning. 32-year-old Michael ROLOF of Drayton Valley has been charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property over $5000, flight from police and mischief as a result of the these events.
October 10
7:55 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Welfare check request received. Hotel staff called police advising a male in one of their rooms came back very intoxicated the night before and staff was concerned for him. Members knocked on the door and male was fine, just suffering form the previous evening’s decisions.
7:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Lions Park – Driving complaint received. Complainant reported suspect had passed her in town as she was slowing to avoid striking a deer. Complainant did not want the driver ticketed, just warned. Member located the driver in the Omniplex parking lot. Driver warned about passing in town and advised he should just be thankful he missed Billy Buck.
October 12
6:17 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Police dispatched to the left of a side by side. Thieves came into the complainant’s yard and stole their side by side and headed west towards Drayton Valley. Side by Side recovered a short distance away from the residence as the thieves had gotten it stuck in the coulee. Members continue to investigate.
8:33 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a theft of a cell phone. Complainant advised her daughter left her phone in the independent bathroom about a week ago and it was stolen by whomever used it next. Suspect who has the phone is now contacting her on Facebook. RCMP continue to investigate.
9:11 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a fraud received. Individual bought items from an auction and received the invoice. Shortly after they received a second invoice with a slightly different account to wire the money to and money was sent. This second email was a fraud. This fraud is becoming more common. If after purchasing something you receive a second email with a new invoice and account please contact the company whom you purchased the item from and confirm they sent the email.
10:57 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview Mobile Home Park – Complaint received of a male who was evicted now squatting in the shed on the property. Members attended and located the male and a female in the shed. Both advised they needed to leave the property and if they returned they would be charged.
11:31 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Collision report at the detachment. Damages stickers issued.
12:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Report received of a break and enter to a residence while the owners were away on holidays. Both vehicles stolen, a white Dodge Ram and a grey 2015 Jeep Patriot. The Dodge Ram was located by police later in the evening. The male driver of the truck attempted to flee from police but was arrested after being tracked by our police service dog.
3:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Report received of an erratic driver in the Omniplex parking lot. Older model sedan almost t-boned the complainant. Member following up with video surveillance.
7:02 p.m. – Tomahawk – 50 Avenue – Report received of a possible sighting of the stolen grey 2015 Jeep Patriot at a residence in Tomahawk. Members attended but vehicle was not located.
8:41 p.m. – Brazeau County – Highway 759 – vehicle vs cow collision reported. No injuries to the occupants of the vehicle.
8:55 p.m. – Brazeau County – Violet Grove – Suspicious male with a back pack reported sneaking around on an individual’s property in Violet Grove. Male told the complainant he was looing for a path to town and then took off. Members attended the area to locate the male, but were unable to.
10:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members received a third-hand compliant of an assault. Members investigating.
October 13
12:42 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Members dispatched to a male in distress. Members attended and located a male having a hard time. Male given a courtesy ride.
01:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Members dispatched to a suspicious male at Petro South, was just hanging around not buying anything. Member attended and spoke to the male who advised he had no where to go as he was too late to gain access to the shelter pods. Members requested the male move along as this was private property.
