New temperature record unofficially set in Breton area Tuesday

Another stretch of hot weather brought many new temperature records to Alberta on Tuesday.

Meteorologists with Environment and Climate Change Canada say the Breton area unofficially reached a new record of 30.0 degrees Celsius on August 30, beating the old record of 29.5 degrees Celsius set in 1996.

Records in this area have been kept since 1939.
