Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. August 18
9:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Police received a report of a wallet that was stolen while the complainant was in Italy. Members request to go to Italy to investigate was unfortunately for him denied. No follow up required, file number provided for completion of necessary documents.
1:58 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Police received a report of a domestic assault. Complainant reported she was assaulted by her ex-girlfriend. Members responded, took a statement from both parties. Evidence of the assault was obtained and assault charges were laid.
6:55 p.m. – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Complaint received of gun shots heard by the town dump. Members attended the area, nothing suspicious located, everything fine in the area.
August 19
1:52 a.m. – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – Police were called to a complaint of a break and enter to a lease site. Members attended with Obsidian Security, but the thieves had left prior to the member’s arrival. Thieves had been cutting and stealing copper. Investigation is continuing.
1:23 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Report of a break and enter to St. Anthony School. Male teenager had gained access into the school via an open door in the courtyard. Member spoke with youth and parent regarding the behaviour. Nothing stolen. No damage.
August 20
3:32 p.m.- Drayton Valley – Brougham Drive – Complainant reporting that several illegal items were located in one of the rooms. Member attended and seized illegal items.
4:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a possible impaired driver. Female had come out of store and backed into the complainant truck. Member attended and located both vehicles and individuals. Roadside screening device administered and a fail reading obtained. Vehicle seized and drivers licence suspended.
5:28 p.m. – Brazeau County – Report of threats via Whatsapp and Snapchat. Individual is threatening complainant and advised they would harm family if they did not send them money. Complainant already sent them $600. They are asking for $3000 more. Member spoke with the complainant and advised them it was a scam. Matter is still under investigation.
August 21
1:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Request to assist EMS with an assault victim who was being uncooperative. Members attended, all parties spoken to, consensual fight.
August 22
12:08 a.m. – Drayton Valley – MacKenzie Avenue – Call received from individual who is experiencing extreme paranoia. Stating that there are numerous individuals outside their residence. Member attended, no persons around. Spoke with complainant and cleared the residence and yard for complainant.
August 23
8:20 a.m. – Brazeau County – Report received of a break and enter to compound. Fence was cut and four catalytic converters taken. An attempt to steal a fifth catalytic converter was made but unsuccessful.
3:27 p.m.- Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Individual reported that what appeared to be a youth was driving a tractor on the road. Member attended and spoke with driver who was 30 years old and produced a valid drivers licence. No offence.
August 24
5:26 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report received of a male who appeared to be sleeping on the shoulder of the highway. Complainant concerned for their safety. Member attended and located.
August 25
1:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Report received of an individual opening the door to their neighbour’s vehicle. When complainant yelled at them they fled on a bike. Male was wearing a black hoody. Members patrolled, male not located.
4:00 a.m. – Lodgepole – Report received of two vehicles on a lease site. Members attended and located vehicles. Traffic stop initiated. One male arrested on outstanding warrants from Edmonton Police Service and held for bail hearing. Female given violation ticket for no registration.
