Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores.
Mounties say the app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. July 21
11:05 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 75 – complainant reporting they lent their gooseneck trailer to neighbour, however they cannot reach them now. Neighbour advised that the complainant owed them money and that is why they have the trailer. Both parties advised this was a civil matter and that the trailer still belonged to the complainant and needed to be returned.
11:17 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Report of a theft of golf cart from Drayton Valley RV park and Campground. Golf cart is a 2010 Yamaha, green in colour.
3:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 44A Avenue – Complainant reporting they posted an ad on kijiji for a laptop they were selling. An individual contacted them and stated they would pay more than the asking price if the complainant would ship it to Ontario. Complainant agreed but requested the money first. Money never arrived, complainant did not send laptop.
3:32 p.m. – Parkland County – Report received of a theft of a 2018 Black dump trailer.
8:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they found their stolen bike. Bike had been spray painted white. Members attended, possible suspect. Bike returned to owner.
July 22
11:03 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting their spouse was verbally assaulted in the back alley of their residence. A vehicle had gone by driving very fast and male had entered the alley to slow them down. Vehicle is a 2005 Black Toyota Corolla. Vehicle sped passed male and proceeded to turn around. Driver exited the vehicle and began swearing at male. Driver then got back into vehicle and drove away. Member spoke with driver who provided a different story, however, driver was warned about speeding and behaviour.
2:54 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report of trespassing received at Opportunity Home building. Male and female. Members attended, both had left prior to arrival, however were able to be identified. Building searched and secured. Signs of forced entry at the back door. Matter is still under investigation.
3:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report received of an email account which had been hacked. Someone had diverted almost $60,000 to a bank account in Manitoba. Matter is under investigation.
6:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Report of two males fighting at #2 Center court Trailer Park. Member attended and spoke with one male who advised they got into an argument with another male. Argument became physical. Male did not wish charges and would not provide a statement regarding the fight.
July 23
Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report received of a fight at the Derrick Lounge. One party knocked their drink out of the hands of the other. Member attended and spoke with both males, both males advised to go home. One male arrested on outstanding warrants.
3:29 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 911 open line. Patrols made in the area. Two individuals located. An argument had occurred which resulted in one party being punched. They damaged the windshield to the other party’s vehicle in retaliation. One party was acting erratically. Members advised they would obtain statements later when they calmed down.
7:15 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report that someone may be inside the Opportunity Home building. Member attended, complainant advised they had observed two males crawling underneath the fence to exit the property. No signs of forced entry and no signs that anyone had been in building.
9:18 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Outdoor exhibit compound at RCMP detachment broken into. Suspect stole a bike. Suspect located and arrested.
3:42 p.m. – Violet Grove – Report received of a female acting erratic and hitting a wall with a sledgehammer. Members attended and located female who was arrested and taken to the detachment.
4:00 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report that individual was assaulted by uncle. Members attended. Uncle had attempted to run complainant over with a tractor. Both parties spoken to. Consensual fight.
4:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Report of a family dispute that became physical. One party advised they were assaulted by the other. Complainant taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. Possible charges pending.
9:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Report of a young child wandering on the street alone. Complainant grabbed the child to ensure they did not go onto the road. Member attended and followed child home. Child had snuck out of bed and with the assistance of the family dog, left the residence.
July 24
9:21 a.m. – Brazeau County – Report of a trailer stolen from DV Storage sometime over the past two months. Trailer is a 2017 Beige Forest River Shasta Revere. Under investigation.
12:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Report of a break and enter to Town Works Yard sometime over the weekend. A 120 litre tidy tank stolen.
2:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Report received of threats. Family dispute had taken place the previous night. One party had left and spent the night elsewhere, when they returned the other party threatened to beat them up. Members located individual who was arrested for assault and threats.
4:24 p.m. – Brazeau County – Request to assist fire department with a vehicle fire. Members attended and located a gold 1998 Chevrolet Sport Van. Vehicle fire had been put out by individual nearby. Owner attended while members were on scene. They had left the vehicle as it had brake problems. They had been towing the vehicle.
6:34 p.m.– Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a stray dog. Complainant had observed the dog in the parking lot near the TD Bank. Dog had been wandering around for quite some time. Members attended and took the dog to the animal shelter.
July 25
5:56 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Caller reporting a suspicious male wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and a dark mountain bike was in the river ravine area. Male was in possession of a hatchet. When complainant confronted the male, male became verbally abusive and took off into the bush. Members attended area and patrolled. Male not located.
9:16 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Report of a break and enter to a shed. Unknown individual jumped the fence into the backyard, kicked in the side door on the garage and stole hand and power tools.
9:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant called to report a fraud. Complainant was out $4000 worth of gift cards.
10:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Report received of a found bike. Bike has pink lettering and pink handles. Members attended and seized bike. Bike is a girls CCM mountain bike.
2:32 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting their unlocked detached garage had been entered and numerous items stolen totaling approximately $9,000.
July 26
10:21 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Report of shoplifting. Unknown individual stole an FM transmitter then left the scene in a silver Pontiac Van. Matter under investigation.
11:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft of their 1995 red and black Jeep YJ from the parking lot at the south end of Drayton Valley.
2:28 p.m. – Parkland County – Report of a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee abandoned. Appears that it was involved in a collision with a railing on the bridge. Member attended and located vehicle.
2:28 p.m. – Yellowhead County – Report received of a 2012 dark green Polaris Sportsman ATV stolen from a C-can. Gate to the site was locked. Also stolen was a lawn trimmer and Honda generator.
July 27
2:20 a.m.- Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Vehicle driver impaired. Vehicle towed and driver provided courtesy ride.
11:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received that the street lights are out and individual drivers were not treating the intersection as a four way stop. Power lines are being worked on.
11:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a two vehicle collision. One party was turning with a green light and was struck by another vehicle who ran a red light. Minor injuries. Charges pending.
July 28
12:15 a.m. – Brazeau County – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a speeding Avalanche. Known male in back seat arrested on outstanding warrants.
