The Town of Drayton Valley is once again asking people to refrain from stealing from the new aquatic centre.
Drayton Valley RCMP report that, on July 7, there was another theft from the construction site of the new Ricochet Oil Aquatic Centre. Two air horns were stolen. A search of the area produced negative results.
This is not the first time the Town has worried about thefts from the construction site. Back in August 2021, a rash of thefts from the site led the Town to increase security. Security cameras were added to the site to provide 24 hour surveillance.
The recent theft has the Town once again taking to their Facebook page to ask residents to keep watch on the construction site.
In their statement, the Town warns that these thefts lead to construction delays, as the crews need to ensure the safety and security of the building.
The Town also warns that, as it is an active construction site, it is dangerous to enter without the proper protective equipment.
Despite the recent the theft, the Ricochet Oil Aquatic Centre is still on track to open this fall.
