May 5
8:02 am – Drayton Valley – RR73 – Police received a call of a suspicious vehicle being driven by a male in his 60’s. Male was driving really slow through the area and stopping at driveways. License plate obtained for the vehicle. Police ran the license plate and it came back to a male in his 60’s known to police for mental health issues. Members made patrols for the vehicle but were unable to locate it.
8:03 am – Brazeau County – RR80 – Police received another call of a suspicious vehicle parked at mailboxes for the past 40 minutes. Members attended and located the vehicle still parked by the mail boxes. Police spoke with the driver who advised he was just waiting prior to going to his parent residence which was only a few driveways away.
08:26 am – Brazeau County – Cynthia – Police received another call of a suspicious vehicle. This vehicle was described as a white GMC Sierra long box with no rear bumper or license plate, snooping around vehicles in Cynthia. Members made patrols up to Cynthia, while looking for the truck they received a second complaint on the truck snooping around yards in Lodgepole.
8:46 am – Brazeau County – Lodgepole – Police were dispatched to a complaint of the same truck, a white GMC Sierra long box truck with no rear bumper or license plate snooping around a yard in Lodgepole. Members went out and searched the area for the truck but were unable to locate it. A truck matching that description had been used to break into a lease site in Evansburg’s policing area the night before.
9:29 am – Brazeau County – Highway 621 – Vehicle vs deer collision reported to police. Statement taken and damage sticker issued.
9:59 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Traffic collision reported to police. No injuries. Statements taken and damage stickers issued.
11:34 am – Drayton Valley – 47 street – Police received a report of damage to a vehicle. Complainant reported that it appears that someone tried to gain access to his vehicle but was unable to do so.
2:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex parking lot – Police received a complaint about vehicle stunting in the parking lot. Members attended and located one of the vehicles described. Complainant did not want to give a statement or go to court so driver given a written warning notice. All other young drivers in the Omniplex parking lot spoken to about the potential consequences for stunting.
5:46 pm – Brazeau County – RR 64 – Police received a call about a beige Ford F350 with a red slip tank. It is believed to be associated with criminal activity. Members made patrols for the vehicle but were unable to locate it. Breton RCMP advised as it was last seen heading towards Breton.
6:55 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 39 – Police received a complaint of a blue lifted Chevrolet Truck speeding on highway 39. Complainant advised that while they were travelling at 100km’h on highway 39 when the truck passed him on the ditch side at a high rate of speed and almost rolled. Vehicle was travelling east bound. Members made patrols in the area but were unable to catch up to the truck.
8:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 avenue – Police received a 911 call of damage having been done to her property by her ex-common law spouse. Members attended and spoke to both parties. The ex-common law had damaged a garage door while moving his items out. Members determined that no offence occurred, stayed at the property keeping the peace until belongings were collected.
9:37 pm – Brazeau County – Township 494 – Complainant called police to advise a male was biking around the area wearing all black. Complainant advised it appeared he was scooping out the houses. Members made patrols but could not locate the male.
9:40 pm – Brazeau County – RR 91 – Complainant called police to advise that there were cows in the ditch along RR 91. Complainant told police who the cows belonged to and where he lived. Members contacted the owner of the cows who advised another neighbor had noticed they were out and instead of calling the police, he simply went and let him know. Cows were back in already.
10:00 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Police were dispatched to a 911 call of a not making sense on the phone. Members attended with EMS. Female is well known to police and a frequent caller of 911. Female transported to hospital by EMS.
10:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 avenue – Members received another call of harassment between a known male and female. Female called the police this time angry that the male keeps accusing her of fingering him and mooning him while he drives by. Female advised he keeps driving by her residence on 50 avenue. On going issue between the 2 where both call the police anytime one sees the other.
11:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 avenue – While out on patrol a member noted a vehicle driving with out there head lights on. Members stopped the vehicle and did mandatory alcohol screening with the driver. Driver failed and the road side test. Provincial impaired driving sanctions served.
May 6
12:07 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police received a 911 call of a domestic dispute. Members attended and spoke with both parties who advised it was only a verbal dispute, that nothing physical happened. Parties separated for the night.
12:18 am – Drayton Valley – 43 street – Police received another 911 call of a domestic dispute. Members attended. Both parties were highly intoxicated and gotten into an argument causing some items in the house to be broken. No physical violence had occurred and parties were separated for the night.
1:39 am – Drayton Valley – 50 avenue – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a female hitting a window at the local hotel with a piece of wood. Members attended and located the female. Female arrested as she was on court conditions not to attend the hotel. No damage caused to the hotel.
9:27 am – Drayton Valley – Operator of the Drayton Valley campground called to request removal of a trailer from the RV park. Operator advised they can have trailer towed as it is on private property.
10:19 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report of a two vehicle collision. No injuries.
1:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Individual called to report a threat received in September 2020 from ex. There has been no contact for over a year. Member advised complainant to call if any further communication received
1:20 pm – Brazeau county – Request to assist individual with gathering their belongings. Member attended to keep the peace.
5:48 pm – Brazeau County – Request received to conduct a wellbeing check on individual. Members were able to speak with individual who advised they were just having a bad day.
8:41 pm – Brazeau County – Report received of a silver Avalanche truck with 2 males hitching up a trailer on complainants property. Members located vehicle and trailer and conducted a traffic stop. Female in the back seat had warrants and was arrested and released. No issues with truck and trailer.
10:53 pm – Brazeau County – Report received of a break and enter to residence. Members attended, ongoing issue with male who was suffering paranoia. No one else in the residence.
May 7
9:04 am – Brazeau County – Report received of a break and enter to a lease site. Suspects broke the windows on a shack, however did not appear to have gained entry.
11:07 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant called to request a wellbeing check on a female in the vestibule of the RBC. Members attended and located known female. Members provided a courtesy ride.
12:44 pm – Brazeau County – RR 70 – Report received of stalking. Ex has been following them and taking things from the residence. Reports unfounded.
2:58 pm – Brazeau County – Report received of cows on the road. Member attended, cows had already returned to the proper side of the fence.
3:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of an individual experiencing a manic state. Members attended and spoke with all parties.
4:07 PM – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Report received of family member outside and trying to gain entry to residence. Member attended, one male arrested on outstanding warrants. Male gathered belongings and left residence.
7:27 PM – Brazeau County – Members investigating a robbery which occurred on April 21, 2022, attended a residence in Brazeau County and arrested a male. The male has been charged with the robbery as well as breach of a conditional Sentence order. The male was held for a hearing and remanded.
8:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Report received from individual who had observed a suspicious vehicle. Red mini van with two occupants, both with toques seemed to have been following complainant. Complainant felt this was strange. Members attended the area and patrolled, vehicle not located.
9:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – 911 open line. Ongoing issue with known female. Members attended and spoke with female who advised they had not called.
May 8
12:24 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Another 911 call received from same female. EMS attended.
12:42 am – Report received of an individual experiencing a crisis and wanting to access help.
4:31 am – Brazeau County – RR 65 – Complainant called EMS initially for assistance. Members then advised of an assault. Members attended and located complainant. Male arrested and charged with assault, held for a bail hearing.
1:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 41A Avenue – Alarm reported at residence. Member attended, alarm false, occupant was installing a new feature.
1:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – 911 call, ongoing issue with known female. Numerous calls received from same individual. Members attended once again, female advised they did not call 911 but their dog called. EMS attended, female was fine.
3:44 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Call received of a truck on fire. Members attended along with fire department and located driver and vehicle.
8:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 20 Avenue – Member received a report of a suspicious male going in and out of consciousness at the Beer Locker. Member attended and located male behind the wheel of a vehicle. Male refused to provide a breath sample. Driver was already suspended from driving. Driver impaired and brought back to the detachment and held until sober, then released with numerous violation tickets.
May 9
2:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Report received of a stolen cell phone. Caller stated they had been in the lounge and had left their phone behind on a VLT machine, when they returned the phone was gone. Member attended the lounge. Matter is still under investigation.
2:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle drive through a stop sign. Driver issued a violation ticket.
3:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle drive through a stop sign. Driver issued a violation ticket
7:53 pm – Drayton Valley – Information received regarding a suspended driver. Member attended area and made patrols, vehicle not located.
9:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a white Ford driving erratically. Member attended location and located vehicle. Driver spoken to about their manner of driving.
May 10
5:23 am – Brazeau County – Commercial alarm received. Keyholder advised it was a false alarm.
11:12 am – Drayton Valley – 50th street – Manager at Holiday Inn express reported that they had found drugs and drug paraphernalia in a room. Members attended and seized the small amount of drugs.
11:28 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Complainant called police to advise that her brother had passed away over the weekend and now his common-law son was driving his truck around and did not have permission to take it. Vehicle had already been stopped by police as it was not registered. Vehicle towed back to complainant’s property to be held until estate is settled.
12:30 pm – Brazeau County – Rocky Rapids – Parking lot motor vehicle collision reported to police. Vehicle backed into another vehicle causing damage.
2:02 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant called police to advise they had batteries stolen from one of their energy sites. Investigations are continuing in the area of oilfield crime.
3:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 ave – Youth complainant contacted police to advising him and a female youth had a conflict in March that he believed was dealt with. He stated that last week this female posted a video on Tiktok with his face in it and he did not appreciate that. Both youths spoken with, TikTok video had already been taken down.
4:10 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22– Members were dispatched to a complaint of a older model GMC pick up with a canopy pulling a 5th wheel trailer with some sort of homemade hitch extension. Complainant advised it was very unstable and unsafe. Members attended and located the vehicle trailer. Numerous issues identified during the stop, the trailer was not attached safely, and vehicles were not registered or insured. Tickets issued for the improper hitch attachment as well no registration and no insurance.
4:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 street – Members dispatched to a complaint of a male with mental health issues and complainant feared that he was going to harm himself. Rural police mental health crises team attended. Male was apprehended under the mental health act and transport to a mental health facility.
4:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Members dispatched to a 2 vehicle collision at the lights by Boston Pizza. Vehicle had turned left in front of an oncoming vehicle causing a collision. No injuries, collision form handed out and owners arranged to have their vehicles towed.
10:33 pm – Brazeau County – Range Road 64 – Members dispatched to a vehicle vs deer collision. Complainant advised the deer was in the ditch and needed to be put down. Members attended and deer was already deceased.
May 11
5:07 am – Parkland County – Members dispatched to a complaint of break and enter to an Obsidian lease site. Thieves were currently at the site. Members attended but thieves had already left. Investigation is continuing as site was monitored by video surveillance.
7:04 AM – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Report received of a break and enter to commercial business in Drayton Valley. Window broken in back of business. Laptop, drills stolen.
8:13 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of dispute received. Complainant reported they have been arguing with other party since Sunday and would like them to move out, however they refuse to do so. Does not meet the threshold for charges. Member provided advice on how to proceed.
9:05 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Caller requesting patrols in area as traffic is not slowing down at yield sign.
10:18 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a hit and run in alley behind the Brick. Description of suspect vehicle received. Members patrolled the area and located the vehicle and driver. Driver issued several violation tickets related to accident.
1:00 pm – Brazeau County – Report received of a stolen vehicle from Drayton Valley. Stolen vehicle observed near the gun range. Breton members observed the vehicle later in the day, vehicle refused to stop. Vehicle is a 2005 gold colour Ford F350.
2:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of female in medical distress requesting EMS. Female ran into another vehicle while parking their car. Members and EMS attended. EMS transported female to hospital.
3:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol observed a vehicle fail to stop at crosswalk. Traffic stop initiated and driver issued a violation ticket.
3:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration or licence.
4:18 pm – Brazeau county – Report received of a possible impaired driver in a red Chevrolet Cruze. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
8:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Report received of a black dodge Ram with Canada flag on the back speeding and running red lights. Members patrolled the area.
8:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Request received to conduct a wellbeing check on individual who is slumped over. Member attended area, male had since left.
8:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
9:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Report received of a fire in the bushes near residence. Fire Department and members attended. Fire extinguished, no one around, members seized a quantity of marijuana at the scene.
10:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Members on patrol observed vehicle stunting in the Omniplex parking lot. Traffic stop initiated and driver issued a violation ticket for stunting.
10:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Member on patrol observed vehicle stunting in the parking lot of the Omniplex. Traffic stop initiated and driver issued a violation ticket for stunting.
