Airplanes from around the province are once again about to descend on Drayton Valley.
The Pembina Regional Aerodrome Association is starting to plan their annual Fly-In Pancake Breakfast. The event is tentatively scheduled for June 11, 2022.
The Association recently made their pitch to Drayton Valley town council for assistance.
The Association is hoping the Town could loan them some tables and chairs, set up a booth so the Town can be involved, and maybe even have the Drayton Valley Fire Department on hand to show off their fire trucks.
Council was excited at the proposition, and asked administration if they could even use some of the interactive displays they created last year for promoting the Drayton Valley region.
Administration said they still have them laying around, and were thinking the same thing.
Councillor Rick Evans wanted to confirm that the fire department’s involvement would be dependent on their availability.
Administration confirmed they had already spoken to the fire department. The fire department confirmed their involvement hinges on getting enough members to volunteer to do it.
Council granted its support.
