March 24
08:52 am – Brazeau County – RR 81 – police were dispatched to a complaint of a dangerous driver on the back roads on Township 491 and RR 81. Vehicle was a white truck pulling a flat deck trailer and driver was driving like a crazy person. Members conducted patrols for the vehicle but were unable to locate it.
09:30 am – Drayton Valley – Police received a request form Probation to serve a summons on a female from Drayton Valley who is breaching her probation order.
09:46 am – Brazeau County – Police received a complaint of an abandoned vehicle on a lease site north of Easyford. Police contacted the registered owner who advised that her son had her vehicle and was out quading around that area.
10:09 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood trailer court – Police received a call of a domestic situation. Complainant advised that her ex-boyfriend is intoxicated, high and he is refusing leave. Police attended and the boyfriend had already left. No criminal offence occurred.
12:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 43rd Ave – Police received a report of a traffic collision. Complainant’s father in law had back his quad into the side of her SUV. Paperwork completed.
12:32 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood trailer court – Police were called to assist EMS with a potential overdose. Members attended, EMS took the patient to the hospital. Mental health assistance discussed with patients friends.
1:00 pm – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Police were dispatched to a complaint of threats over the phone. Complainant reported that her granddaughter had called her and threatened to physically harm her and kill her so she could take her little brother. The investigation is still ongoing.
2:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 avenue – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a found bicycle. Police attended and collected the bike.
3:08 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Members were again dispatched to the residence of a well known female alleging a possible assault. Members attended female was again highly intoxicated and members determined no assault occurred. As this is believed to be a mental health issue, mental health supports for the female contacted and updated.
4:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police were dispatched to the complaint of a hit and run in the Dairy Queen parking lot. A newer black Dodge half tonne driven by a balding male approximately 50 years old T boned the complainant’s white Chevrolet Silverado. Driver appeared intoxicated and fled the area when complainant pulled out their phone to call the police. Investigation is continuing. If anyone witnessed this collision they are requested to contact Drayton Valley RCMP.
10:03 pm – Brazeau County – Twp 504 – Complaint received of a breach of court order. Complainant reports that she believes her ex sent her an email stating that there are hidden cameras on the property and he can watch her. The complainants ex is currently wanted an outstanding warrants. Investigation is continuing.
March 25
03:39 am – Drayton Valley – 52nd avenue – Complainant called police from the Drayton Valley Hotel advising that people are hanging out by his room window and harassing him. Police attended, no one around.
04:05 am – Drayton Valley – 47 street – Complainant called police to report a domestic assault that had just occurred. Police attended and complainant and her boyfriend were drinking together when an argument turned violent. Boyfriend arrested and charged with assault.
08:21 am – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – Complaint received of a Semi truck that rolled approximately 1 km from the Brazeau Dam. Members attended that, Semi truck had rolled over and was blocking traffic both lanes. No one injured and company who owned the truck brought equipment to move the truck and open the highway.
09:20 am – Drayton Valley – Complaint received of an assault on a child by a parent. Police and child and family services are working together to determine what occurred.
09:32 am – Brazeau County – Tomahawk – Complaint received of a theft of a snowmobile. Complainant advised his 2018 green and black artic cat snowmobile was parked beside his house with the key in it and when he woke up it was gone.
10:40 am – Drayton Valley – 45th avenue – Members received a complaint of online bullying that has been going on for 2 months. Members attended and spoke with the involved parties. The investigation is continuing.
11:11 am – Drayton Valley – Complaint received of harassing phone calls. Caller is calling at all hours and sending indecent images. Members continue to investigate.
11:48 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Complaint received of a hit and run received. Complainant advised that his truck was hit while parked at the Foxwood Inn. Collision statement completed.
11:50 am – Brazeau County – Lodgepole – Complaint received of a stolen vehicle Complainant believes it was the individual who sold her the vehicle and is her daughter’s friend. Investigation is continuing.
12:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 avenue – Members received a call for a well being check on a fiend. Complainant hadn’t heard from their friend and was worried they were overdosing. Members attended the friend’s address who was fine.
1:12 pm Drayton Valley – Hit and run reported to the Drayton Valley detachment. Complainant noticed the damage when washing his truck. Unknown when it occurred. Collision forms completed.
2:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Motor vehicle collision reported in the Omniplex parking lot. Vehicles slid into another at low speed. Collision documents completed.
3:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 street – Complaint attended the Drayton Valley detachment to report an on going harassment. Investigation continuing.
4:32 pm – Brazeau County – Report of a break in and theft of copper wire from a Sinopec lease sight. Investigation continuing.
6:08 pm – Drayton Valley – Northview – Complainant called police to advise that her ex had not brought their daughter to their designated exchange spot. Members attempted to follow up with the complainant but she did not answer or return their calls. Members followed up with her ex and determined there was no breach in the parenting order.
7:28 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Members called to assist EMS with a female having seizures. Members attended, female transported by EMS.
8:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 avenue – Complainant reported a hit and run to his Chevrolet half ton truck. No witness’s but vehicle that hit him left behind some white paint. Collision documents completed.
9:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Bank of Montreal security reported that someone was sleeping in their vestibule. Members attended but the sleeper had awoken and was gone.
March 26
0938 am – Drayton Valley – 50 avenue – Commercial alarm at a local business. Property rep contacted who advised delivery guy had set off the alarm. No need for police attendance.
10:00 am – Drayton Valley – 52nd avenue – Paladin security reported and alarm going off at a local business. Members attended and spoke with the property rep who advised everything was fine, it was a false alarm.
12:27 pm – Brazeau County – Police received a call to assist with a male having a mental health crises. Male destroyed the house and then departed with the family’s truck advising he was going to harm himself. Members located the truck in Drayton Valley and arrested the male under the mental health act. Male transported to Red Deer hospital to receive mental health care.
1:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police received a complaint of an abandoned vehicle at Boston Pizza. Members attended, ran the plate and contacted the registered owner. Owner had lent out the vehicle, arrangements were made to move the vehicle.
4:23 pm – Brazeau County – highway 620 – Police received a complaint of a white Chevrolet Silverado with 2 passengers speeding on highway 620. Police attended and located a truck matching the description. Traffic stop done by police and driver warned.
5:52 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant called police stating that he believes a vehicle drove into the ditch in front of his house as there were multiple car parts in the ditch. Member documented the occurrence.
9:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 52nd avenue – Police received a call of a suspicious male who had entered a local business with a cart after riding up on a bike. Police attended and located male who was a contractor on site.
9:43 pm – Tomahawk – Police received a complaint of a breach of an Emergency Protection Order. Member contacted the complainant and learned that the Emergency Protection Order had not been served yet, so therefore was not in effect and that the contact was an attempt to retrieve belongings. Member worked out a solution with complainant agreeing to have a 3rd party pick up the belongings.
March 27
01:58 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Member received a female caller in distress. Female was not making sense on the phone. Members attended, located the female on the road. Female was highly intoxicated, having a hard time remembering where she lived. Members transported the female back to her residence and determined there were no safety concerns at the residence.
05:11 am – Tomahawk – Police received a second call of an Emergency Protection Order Breach. Members contacted the complainant, Emergency Protection Order had still not been served. Contact was not threatening. Parkland RCMP following up with serving the Order.
08:55 am – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police received a complaint of an erratic driver going through the intersection of 50 street and Highway 22. Vehicle description sent to Breton detachment as it was travelling towards them.
12:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 avenue – While on patrol a member observed a suspicious male walking out of 7-11 with a lot of items in his hand and the cashier pointing at the male. Member attempted to stop the male who fled on foot and then jumped into an awaiting pick up truck which fled the area. Member examined surveillance at 7-11 and identified the male. Warrant issued for his arrest.
1:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 avenue – Members were dispatched to a complaint of a beer bottle being thrown at girls playing on the street from an occupant of a truck. Investigation is continuing as members are attempting to identify the male.
1:49 pm – Brazeau County – Lodge Pole – Member received a complaint of people on the complainant’s property with trailers taking her belongings. Members attended, all individuals on the property advised they were allowed to be there. As members spoke with all involved they learned that this was an estate disagreement and was civil in nature. All parties agreed to leave the items for the time being.
5:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 52nd street – Police were dispatched to a domestic dispute. Members attended and spoke with both parties. No assault occurred, just a verbal confrontation as one of the parties was moving out. Parties separated for the evening and arrangements made to retrieve belongings another time.
7:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 street – Police were dispatched to a complaint of an abandoned vehicle, looked like someone is living in it with their dog. Members attended, no dog around. Registered owner of the vehicle contacted and advised they had to move it.
7:47 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Members received a request to assist a female with retrieving her belongings from her mothers residence. Members attended and kept the peace while she retrieved her items. Female given a courtesy ride to a local hotel.
9:15 pm – Brazeau County – Police were dispatched to a break and enter in progress at an Obsidian lease site north of Cynthia. Members attended but suspects were gone on arrival.
9:40 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Members received a request for a well being check on the female they had just help retrieve belongings by her mother. Complainant reported she had left the hotel. Members attended and she was still at the hotel and ok.
March 28
11:26 am – Drayton Valley – Police received a report of a parking lot collision. Statements provided and damage stickers issued.
12:24 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Members received a call about the situation the night before with the female retrieving her belongings. Caller was the grandparent and requested a well being check on both her daughter and grand daughter she feared her daughter common-law. Members advised granddaughter was fine as she was at a hotel. Members attended the residence to speak to daughter. Daughter was intoxicated, her common-law agreed to spend the day away from the residence.
1:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 street – Police received a complaint of harassing communications. In speaking with the complainant it was determined that the caller was fraudulent, pretending to work for a debt collector. Complainant advised to block the number.
1:48 pm – Brazeau County – Police received a complaint of a suspicious truck from Zedcor security. Truck was idling on a lease road for over an hour. Police called the registered owner who advised he had pulled over to have a nap.
3:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report that someone had keyed his vehicle some where in Drayton Valley.
3:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 avenue – Complainant attended to detachment to report a lost plate he had inadvertently left on a vehicle he sold 2 years ago as registries required it to issue a new plate.
6:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 52nd avenue – Police were dispatched to a call of a domestic dispute. Members attended and spoke with both parties. Parties had been drinking and began fighting. Parties separated for the night.
7:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Police were dispatched to a child welfare concern. Complainant reported that a child upstairs has been crying for the last 25 minutes. Members attended, confirmed and the well being of the child. File referred to Child and Family Services.
7:53 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Police were dispatched to a complaint of harassing communications received. Complainant received texts advising people were watching him. Investigation is continuing.
11:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 52nd avenue – Police were dispatched to a complaint of Uttering Threats. Complainant advised that her ex-boyfriend was intoxicated and threatening to come to her residence. Members attended the residence and spoke to the complainant. No direct threat to her. Members began making patrols looking for the ex boyfriend. They were then updated that he had arrived at the residence. Members were still in the area and attended, ex boyfriend highly intoxicated, he was arrested for public intoxication and held for the night.
March 29
2:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Theft of a refrigerator and dolly. With surveillance footage, police located one of the suspects who identified the other party. Checks showed that the other person was actually in custody in Parkland RCMP for a different theft and the refrigerator and dolly were still inside the car and were subsequently recovered.
4:25 pm – Brazeau County – Lodgepole – Trespassing complaint, caller recently purchased the property and the old owner claims some of the property still there is theirs, advised that is a civil matter and they are not welcome around the property.
7:21 pm – Brazeau County – Domestic related threats complaint. Statements obtained, party arrested and released on conditions and for court at a later date.
7:26 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Police were called to a person laying in the ditch on the side of the highway that appeared to be in medical distress. Police and EMS attended and found the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle which had fled the scene. EMS transported the pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition. As police were investigating the scene a person approached police and admitted to being the driver that struck the pedestrian. The driver was arrested for failing to remain at the scene of an accident. A short time later, the hospital contacted police and advised the pedestrian died as a result of the injuries from the collision. A Forensic Collision Analyst attended and processed the scene, the driver’s vehicle was seized and is being held pending a forensic examination. The driver was released with no charges at this time, pending further investigation.
9:13 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – EMS requested police assistance with a frequent caller who needed to be transported to the hospital. Police tied up with another matter.
10:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 41 Street – Erratic driver, police unable to attend due to another matter.
10:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 55A Avenue – 2 vehicles racing around a cul-de-sac. Vehicles left as caller was on the phone with the police.
10:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Noise complaint, a vehicle is playing loud music outside. Police were unable to attend due to another matter.
March 30
3:39 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a stolen truck from a parking lot that occurred March 29 at 5:30 pm but was just noticed. Blue 1996 GMC Sierra with Alberta licence CGL-7147.
6:41 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complaint of an erratic driver on the highway, vehicle not located.
8:39 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – 2 vehicle collision, vehicle backing out of a parking spot and struck another vehicle. No injuries.
10:24 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Request for a wellbeing check, family advised they have not been able to reach a family member they speak with daily. Police attended the residence and confirmed they were fine and would call their family.
10:30 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Theft of a silver 2008 Dodge Ram 1500, Alberta licence plate CJG-7964 from a parking lot.
11:35 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment advising they were scammed out of $4400 worth of gift cards by a caller claiming to be with a local bank and soliciting the victim to help catch scammers.
11:57 am – Brazeau County – Collision on a lease site between a vehicle and a piece of equipment.
12:01 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complaint of a rock coming off of a deck of a truck and causing damage to a windshield.
12:55 pm – Parkland County – Tomahawk – Report of a breach of a court order, complainant did not actually witness the breach, other party denied it, no evidence to support charges.
2:16 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complaint of a person on a quad in the ditch, no helmet, picking bottles.
2:24 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – 911 hang-up from the hospital, common issue. Police attended, confirmed there was no emergency.
5:10 pm – Brazeau County – Report of a possible domestic assault. Police attended, heated argument, no evidence of a physical altercation, both parties separated for the evening.
6:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Complaint of stunting vehicles in the parking lot, members attended, some vehicles parked in the area and spoken to.
March 31
2:43 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Police were called to assist EMS with gaining entry to a unit. Police breached the door, and EMS was able to reach the patient and transport them to the hospital
