Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. March 10
10:36 AM – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol observed a vehicle speeding through a school zone. Traffic stop initiated and driver issued a violation ticket for speeding.
1:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of suspicious activity around a compound. Member attended and learned that upon arrival of complainant they observed 5 little coils of copper wire hidden in the yard.
3:23 pm – Drayton Valley – Report received of fraud. Complainant attended the detachment with 10 $100 visa gift cards and realized it was a fraud when individuals requested more money. Activation numbers had been given to suspects. Individuals are reminded that anyone asking for gift cards for payment is a fraud.
3:38 pm – Cynthia – Report of a collision at a work site. No injuries.
4:06 pm – Drayton Valley – business reporting a shoplifter. Suspects did not make away with any items, all left behind.
4:08 pm – Violet Grove – Report of an unwanted female. Female is intoxicated and causing issues, refusing to leave. Members attended and spoke with all parties. Female agreed to leave.
5:17 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of a panic alarm received. Members attended and located individual who was cleaning the residence and accidentally hit the alarm.
7:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member received a report of an abandoned vehicle. Members attended, plate attached to vehicle was not registered to vehicle. Plate seized as it did not match
9:30 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report received of an erratic driver in a Honda Civic. Vehicle is driving slow and hitting the edge of the highway then coming back into the lane. Member patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
10:22 pm – Brazeau County – Rr 73 – Report received from individual who suspected they were being tracked. Member attended. App on phone is utilized to track whereabouts.
11:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of an assault. Members attended, assault had occurred the previous evening. Matter is still under investigation.
March 11
8:38 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a stolen 2004 Dark Grey Chev Silverado. Passenger window had been broken to gain entry.
1:15 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Park – Caller reporting a disabled Ford F150 on property. Registered owner advised they could not pick up the vehicle. Member advised that if caller wished they could have the vehicle towed.
4:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Report of theft of truck at 9:30 am. Vehicle is a Black 2002 ford SRW.
7:07 pm – Parkland County – Report received of a break and enter to a lease site. Approximately 2-300 feet of copper wire stolen.
7:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of an assault. Matter is still under investigation.
7:39 PM – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a 2 vehicle collision. No injuries. Members attended.
10:00 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed a vehicle failing to stop prior to entering intersection. Driver issued a violation ticket.
11:25 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer court – Report of an assault. Unknown details, mater is still under investigation. Numerous complaints from same individual.
March 12
12:04 am – Brazeau County – Report of a disturbance in progress. Complainant could hear persons yelling. Members attended location and could hear noise. Group of 6 teenagers were having a bonfire and drinks. Members advised them to keep the noise down.
12:07 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Request to assist EMS with individual who had been bear maced. Members attended and provided statement. Matter is still under investigation.
4:35 am – Brazeau County – RR 82 – Report of a break and enter in progress to lease site. Vehicles had left prior to arrival. Members attended and patrolled area, vehicles not located.
5:28 am – Drayton Valley – Report of a dispute received. Complainant stated that ex had been verbally abusive and was in the process of moving out of the residence. Members attended, both parties were calm upon arrival.
9:50 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Commercial panic alarm received. Members attended, occupant did not realize they had triggered the alarm and did not know how to cancel the alarm.
10:10 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report of a wellbeing check on tenant that hasn’t been heard from in a few days. Members attended location and learned that individual is fine and in the care of a doctor.
10:41 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a 2 vehicle collision. One vehicle did not stop at red light and struck another vehicle. No injuries
1:53 PM – Drayton Valley – 45 avenue – 911 open line. Multiple voices heard. Member was finally able to contact the number in which the call originated. Caller had been at the Omniplex and was not aware that they had called 911. All ok
4:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Report received of a concern for children welfare. Child and family services contacted to investigate further.
5:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of vandalism. Dark coloured Dodge Truck was shooting a BB gun at the stop sign. Damage to stop sign. Patrols made, vehicle not located.
7:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Request assistance at Poplar ridge Trailer Park. Ongoing issue. Members attended along with EMS
8:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Caller wished to speak with a specific member who was not on duty at the time. Caller refused to provide any details and would not speak with another member.
11:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Security at a hotel advised that a male has been sleeping in their truck for the past several nights. Would like them to move to another location. Member attended and spoke with individual who agreed to go elsewhere.
11:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Request for a wellbeing check on individual who they haven’t heard from in a few days. Members located individual and was spoken to. Individual was fine.
March 13
1:24 am – Brazeau County – Poplar ridge trailer court – Caller requesting police assistance. Ongoing issue. Police have attended numerous times over the past weeks. No evidence to substantiate any charges.
4:03 am – Drayton Valley – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Another call received from individual related to previous call. Members attended. Complainant is intoxicated and suffering from paranoia.
4:57 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Noise complaint received. Patrols made, no noise heard. House party had ended prior to arrival.
6:19 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of an erratic driver in a Grey Chevrolet Truck. Members patrolled area, vehicle not located.
6:29 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – 911 open line from known residence. Ongoing issue. Members attended, caller was fine and was on couch in living room. No issues.
7:42 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Request to assist EMS received. Members attended and located female in distress. EMS transported female to hospital.
9:18 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Request for assistance to retrieve property from residence. No contact order in place. Members advised that they could call when they were ready to retrieve belongings.
10:19 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Member on patrol observed a truck and trailer hit a light post. Traffic stop initiated. Driver impaired by alcohol. Driver charged provincially and given a 90 day licence suspension.
1:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol observed a vehicle being driven by a known individual who is suspended from driving. Vehicle seized.
4:07 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Report of a possible intoxicated driver in a Dodge Avenger, Grey in colour. Vehicle is passing on double solid line on a corner, complainant concerned. Member patrolled area and located vehicle, traffic stop initiated. Driver not impaired by alcohol. Warning about driving behaviour issued.
5:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Report received of a hockey coach assaulting a couple of players on the ice after game was over. Member attended and spoke with numerous individuals. Coach suspended until investigation is completed.
7:40 pm – Brazeau County – Request received to serve a subpoena.
10:08 pm – Cynthia – Report of a traffic hazard received. Person is walking in the middle of the road. Members attended area and made numerous patrols, no one located.
March 14
8:01 AM – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Request for a wellbeing check on individual who was last heard from the previous evening. Members attended, individual was fine and had been sleeping.
8:30 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Report of an unwanted male sleeping in the ATM vestibule at the royal bank. Members attended and located known male. Male was arrested on outstanding warrants.
10:44 am – Drayton Valley – Report received of harassment. Complainant advised they have been harassed by other employees and suspects individuals have been tampering with their vehicle. Member attended and spoke with complainant who advised they did not wish charges, however wanted police to be aware. Member spoke with employer who advised they would handle the situation.
11:00 am – Drayton Valley – Request for assistance with eviction occurring on March 15. Would like members attend to keep the peace. Caller advised that this is a civil matter and requires a bailiff.
11:54 pm – Parkland County – Report of a suspicious vehicle. White pickup truck parked on the side of the road. Complainant observed a grey truck pulling a flatdeck trailer pull a U-Turn and follow the white truck. Member contacted complainant.
12:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a Semi truck hitting traffic lights. Fleet of semi trucks are transporting oversized loads and one clipped the lights. Company contacted.
1:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a traffic hazard. Lights by McDonalds have fallen over. All drivers are treating it as a 4 way stop causing dangerous conditions. EMCON advised.
2:45 pm – Tomahawk – Caller reporting a fraud. Complainant had bought some hay bales off of Facebook and had sent money, however, no hay bales.
3:22 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of a collision which occurred last October.
4:22 pm – Drayton Valley – Report received of loud noise at neighbours. Has been going on for approximately 1 week. Members attended and spoke with both parties. Requested to keep the noise down.
5:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no insurance.
7:25 pm – Tomahawk – Report of a break and enter in progress received. Members attended and spoke with individuals at the residence. One of the parties had been hired to clean up the property.
9:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Report received that a male has been hanging around and propositioning females to get into their vehicle. Male to be banned from property.
March 15
3:10 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – 911 call regarding an unwanted person. Individuals are outside and shining lights into the residence. Members attended, no one observed around building. Complainant advised that they had already left prior to police arrival.
11:48 am – Brazeau County – RR81 – Billy Buck was at it again. Complainant advised he was travelling on RR81 when he collided with a deer. Damage sticker issued.
12:03 pm – Drayton Valley – Police attended the residence of an individual on 24 hr house arrest. Spoke to the individual’s father whom confirmed she was not home, has decided to live somewhere else. Investigation continuing.
1:25 pm – Drayton Valley – Walmart Parking lot – Police received a complaint of a hit and run in the Walmart parking lot. Complainant advised her blue Kia Sportage had the front bumper ripped off and the driver took off. Video surveillance showed a red GMC truck causing the collision. Witness spoken to whom provided the plate of the truck. Registered owner of the red GMC contacted. He admitted to backing into the car and leaving. Charges pending.
1:33 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant called police to report that 2 individuals wanted by police have been hanging around their residence. Were not currently there, but wanted police to know they were around.
1:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant attended the front counter to report a parking lot collision. Damage sticker issued.
1:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 avenue – Complainant called police to advise they had hit a parked truck causing damage to their driver’s side mirror. They went to get a note to leave and when they arrived back the truck was gone. Complainant checked with residents of the location and they did not know whose truck it was. Complainants details taken and if the other party reports police will link the files together.
5:53 pm – Drayton Valley – Police received a call for a well being check on an individual whom is suffering from depression and may be at risk to harm themselves. Police made contact with the individual and determined there is no current risk to self harm.
5:58 pm – Drayton Valley- 50th avenue – Complaint received of an individual whom appeared to have a dog in a tote. Police made patrols in the area but did not locate anyone with a tote and a dog.
7:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 50th street – Police received a complaint of a child welfare concern. Complainant advised that 2 individuals were having an altercation over whom should have current custody of their children. Police attended determined there was no safety risk to the children and they were with their proper parent at this time according to the custody order. Party’s separated.
9:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 50th avenue – Distracted driving ticket issued.
March 16
00:44 am – Drayton Valley – 63 street – Call to assist fire at the UFA Card lock as someone had driven off with the gas nozzle still in their vehicle. This broke the handle and caused fuel to start spilling on the ground. Fire attended and cleaned up the gas, UFA shut the pump off. Investigation continuing to determine who caused the damage.
8:04 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Report of a homeless person sleeping in a vestibule. Member attended and the person left without issue.
8:55 am – Brazeau County – Collision between a vehicle and a pole on a lease site, no injuries.
8:56 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a homeless person sleeping in a vestibule. Member attended but the person had already left.
10:15 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 753 – Collision between a vehicle and an eagle.
10:25 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report of a guest refusing to leave a hotel room. Police attended, but the person was already in the process of leaving.
12:17 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Complaint of an unwanted email, the complainant had already told the sender not to contact them, and no further issues have occurred, but wanted to report it to police.
4:13 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Single vehicle collision, vehicle went off the road and into the ditch causing damage, no injuries.
5:06 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Theft of black 2009 Ford F350 overnight. Alberta license plate CCH0342, light bar in front bumper.
8:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – 2 vehicle collision, no injuries.
9:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Traffic stop initiated on a vehicle, evidence of alcohol inside the vehicle, a roadside screening device was used and the driver blew a caution, was issued a 3 day driving suspension and vehicle seizure.
