Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. February 24
8:01 am – Drayton Valley – 49 street – Complaint received of 2 dogs walking on 49th street. Member attended, located the 2 dogs and with the assistance of Drayton Valley Animal Services they located the owners.
9:15 am – Drayton Valley – RR 65 – Complaint of a vehicle colliding into their property gate. Complainant advised they were unable to get insurance information from the driver of the vehicle. Members attended and collected documents from the driver of the vehicle.
9:17 am – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Complaint received of damage to a parked vehicle. Complainant advised that while his vehicle was parked in the OJ parking lot it was damaged over night. Members continue to investigate.
2:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Complaint received of suspicious property. The complainant noticed a large amount of copper wire with bike and trailer left near the museum that was not the night before. Members attended and recovered a large quantity of copper wire.
5:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Well being check – Complaint received of a youth outside, not dressed for the weather. Members attended, youth no longer outside. Youth check on at their residence and was in good health.
7:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Breach of no contact order – Members responded to a complaint of a breach of no contact order. The accused used a third party to contact the victim. Accused arrested and charged with breaching their no contact order.
7:37 pm – Drayton Valley – Breach of no contact order – Members responded to a complaint of a breach of no contact order. Members attended and spoke with all parties. It was determined no breach did occur.
February 25
9:07 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a license plate missing off a trailer, unknown if stolen or simply fell off
10:03 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant requested assistance obtaining belongings from a residence she had conditions not to attend at. Member contacted the resident who advised he wouldn’t be home that day but would have the belongings ready for the 27th. Complainant advised.
1:06 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 502 – Complainant attended the detachment to report hitting a deer with her car
1:24 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Ave – Complainant attended the Evansburg RCMP to report ID was missing from his wallet after staying in both Drayton Valley and Grey Nuns Hospital’s over a period of about 10 days
1:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Complainant reported an argument with a male over a tenancy dispute and pending eviction. Members attended, no offence took place. Rooming House Supervisor spoken to about following proper process, complainant arrested on warrants from Edmonton Police
3:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Ave – Complainant attended the detachment seeking assistance retrieving belongings from ex boyfriend. Complainant also disclosed assaults that occurred and provided a statement and photos. Members located the suspect male, who was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and one count of uttering threats.
4:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St/46 Ave – Complainant reported seeing a male enter a parked truck with what might have been a firearm in a black case. No license plate obtained, vehicle not located and no confirmation of any offence or that the item was a firearm
5:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Ave/50 St – Complainant reported one male assaulting another, members attended and located the victim at a nearby residence. The suspect, who is known to police, currently has warrants and so choose to continue to evade police. Under investigation, warrant to be obtained
6:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported his ex-girlfriend went onto his property in breach of prior release conditions. The female suspect was the complainant on the file reported at 10:03 am. Under investigation
7:17 pm – Drayton Valley – Aspenview – Complainant reported her estranged spouse entered her home without her knowledge. Both parties spoken to, no offence at this time, advice given to both.
7:26 pm – Brazeau County – RR73 – Complainant reported an injured deer, likely hit by a car, needs to be euthanized. Member attended and euthanized the deer.
9:37 pm – Brazeau County – RR80 – Complainant reported two suspicious trucks and some people had entered a lease road across from her residence. Members attended and located some people using the area to try out their snowboards.
10:24 pm – Drayton Valley – OCT – Complainant reported a male assaulted a patron and then a security person and then left on foot south bound on 50 St. Members located the male near 7/11 and arrested him. The suspect, a 40-year-old male from Okotoks, was held in cells overnight to sober up and then released for court at a later date.
February 26
7:13 am – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported a granddaughter in her care had been taken by her mom when she wasn’t supposed to. No issues or offences, granddaughter was back, complainant just wanted it documented
11:42 am – Drayton Valley – 22 Hwy/50 Ave – Complainant reported an angry woman walking toward McDonalds yelling, impeding traffic and hitting windows. Description provided. Members patrolled the area including inside nearby businesses, angry female wasn’t located.
12:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that earlier in the day a male cut a lock from a compound to steal recycling. Under investigation with likely suspect identified
3:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
4:35 pm – Brazeau County – Report received of a possible impaired driver on Hwy 759. Vehicle described as a white ford. Vehicle was driving all over the road. Patrols made, vehicle not located.
7:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a suspicions person following them while in the parking lot. Person attempted to get into the vehicle. Members attended and located known male who was intoxicated and had been wandering around the parking lot for the last hour trying to hitch a ride. Male arrested for intoxicated in public.
February 27
2:50 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Member on patrol observed a vehicle which turned into a lease site. Member activating the lights. The vehicle towing a small trailer and a quad ended up getting stuck in the snow. The occupants were known individuals. Truck had no insurance or registration and was towed.
8:02 am – Drayton Valley – 39 Street – Request to conduct a wellbeing check on daughter. Individual has not been able to get a hold of them all week. Members attended residence. All individuals were fine.
1:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol observed driver talking on their cell phone while operating the vehicle. Driver issued a violation ticket for distracted driving.
4:46 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Report received of an erratic driver in a white 4 door car. Vehicle going through stop signs and speeding. Members patrolled the area for the vehicle with negative results.
5:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol observed individual driving without wearing their seatbelt. Traffic stop initiated and driver issued a violation ticket.
6:24 pm – Rocky Rapids – Caller reports being black mailed by someone on the Hangouts chatroom. Caller advised they had been asked to send a video, which they did, other individual asked for $1000 which was sent, then came back and asked for more money. Matter is still under investigation.
8:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a female pedestrian walking in the middle of the street with a shopping cart. One vehicle almost hit them. Members attended and located known female who was safe at the MAT program.
8:52 pm – Drayton Valley – Caller requesting information on where to go to sleep. Members attended and provided a courtesy ride to the MAT program.
9:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Report of dispute between landlord and tenant. Advised this is a civil matter.
11:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Report of a fire burning in the forest behind Eldorado School. Members attended and observed an individual putting the fire out by shovelling snow onto it.
February 28
1:18 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed a vehicle running at a stop sign. Member initiated a traffic stop. Driver was sleeping. Driver arrested for impaired driving. Vehicle towed.
4:45 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of an assault. Members attended. Matter is still under investigation.
10:06 AM – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report a case of identity fraud. Someone used their Instagram picture and created a false identity and withdrew money. Matter is still under investigation.
11:58 am – Drayton Valley – Report of threats received. Landlord tenant issue. Complainant has received an eviction notice and is in the process of moving out. When they attended the residence there was a note advising that the locks were to be changed. Complainant was provided information for the landlord tenancy board.
2:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a collision in a parking lot. No injuries.
2:48 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of a possible theft which occurred in BC. Matter forwarded to BC RCMP for further investigation.
2:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 64 Street – Report of a theft of copper from an inside building. Significant damage to electrical equipment.
3:27 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment to report possible assault. Matter is still under investigation.
4:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Members were attended a call regarding a landlord tenant dispute when they observed known female wanted on outstanding warrants. Female arrested and released as per EPS wishes.
6:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of breach of conditions. Ex was driving on the road near complainants’ residence. Members attended residence and spoke with complainant. No breach occurred.
6:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Report received of an unwanted male. Male attended residence and was asked to leave. Male left without issue.
8:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Request to conduct a wellbeing check on friend who they haven’t heard from in a long time. Member attended residence, no answer.
March 1
12:38 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – another complaint received regarding unwanted male at residence. Members attended and located male. Male provided a stern warning to stay away from residence and occupants.
6:04 am – Brazeau County – Report of assault related to report the previous morning. Members attended. Male arrested and held for bail hearing.
8:58 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a two vehicle collision received. No injuries
11:17 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a two vehicle collision. Members attended, no injuries.
12:19 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Report received of an unwanted persons. Individuals are knocking on the complainants’ door. Member attended.
2:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Report of an abandoned vehicle in the parking lot. Registered Owner contacted, they were very apologetic as they had parked in the wrong parking spot.
3:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 34 Avenue – Report of an abandoned vehicle. Vehicle is a Chevrolet Equinox that has been parked there for the past few months. Member attended and contacted the registered owner who advised son had been trying to sell vehicle. Complainant advised vehicle could stay until sold.
3:19 pm – Brazeau County – Report received of a stolen utility trailer. Member spoke with the complainant who advised they had parked it off the road and couldn’t drive it because of the snow.
7:06 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of not a skunk, but a dead deer in the middle of the road. Member attended and dragged deer off into the ditch.
9:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Request for member to attend to keep the peace. Complainant advised that they had hired an individual to do some work around a residence. Certain renovations had been completed, then the individual had left without completing the work. Matter is still under investigation.
9:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Report of a disturbance. 2 plates had been stolen off vehicles. Members attended residence, civil matter. Members mediated solution.
10:36 pm – Brazeau County – Report of a possible home invasion. Members attended, perimeter checked and no tracks observed. Members cleared residence, no one there. No indications of anyone else in the residence or outside.
11:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Report of a possible break and enter. Complainant advised they could hear breaking glass and someone walking around the building. Member attended and located known male who was going through the garbage bin and hitting the ice off cans.
7:55 AM – Tomahawk – Report received of threats via text. Members spoke with all parties involved. Matter is still under investigation.
9:02 am – Drayton Valley – request to serve documents on individual received.
9:28 am – Brazeau County – Well, it warmed up again, and once again, the deer are frolicking in the woods and not paying attention. Report received of an individual travelling south on RR 85 when the frolicking deer came out of the ditch and collided with the vehicle which caused the vehicle to spin out of control and hit a fence. No injuries with the exception of Bucky.
12:28 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Report received of an assault in the parking lot of Holy Trinity school. Member attended and spoke with all parties involved which were high school students from both Drayton Valley High Schools. Stern warnings given to everyone about the ramifications of this type of behaviour.
2:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received from individual regarding a message they received from their ex.
3:06 pm – Cynthia – Report received of threats via phone. Ongoing situation regarding the children.
3:20 pm – Brazeau County – Report of theft of 1000 gallon propane tank. Tank was stolen utilizing the crane in the yard.
3:51 pm – Tomahawk – Anonymous complaint received regarding a possible intoxicated driver. Member patrolled area, vehicle not located.
4:06 pm – Cynthia – Report received that family member was threatening to throw out their belongings. Threats did not meet the threshold of criminal activity. Arrangements were made for the complainant to pick up their belongings.
6:41 pm – Brazeau County – Report of a 1000 gallon propane tank being stolen from lease site.
March 3
2:31 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Member on patrol observed a vehicle in which the licence plate did not match the vehicle. Licence plate seized and keys taken as individual was intoxicated.
