Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. January 20
8:35 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – 2 vehicle collision at the Hwy 22 intersection. No injuries reported.
10:25 am – Drayton Valley – Property left behind from a prolific trespasser at the dump from likely sometime overnight. Property retrieved my members, suspect was no longer on scene.
10:44 am – Parkland County – Property owner advised several people have attended their residence as it was given as an address to pick up hay that was pre-purchased online. The complainant did not advertise the sale or have any hay to sell. Unknown identity of any victims at this time.
3:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complaint of a trespasser that entered a yard and took recycling. Patrols made, unable to locate the suspect.
4:11 pm – Drayton Valley – Police received a warrant under the Mental Health Act. Police attended the residence and transported them to a medical facility.
5:34 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Fire, EMS and police attended to a 2 vehicle collision, no serious injuries were reported.
8:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Shoplifting of cinnamon rolls, surveillance unavailable. Patrols made, suspect not located.
9:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Abandoned mini quad in a parking lot. Business owner had no problem with it being left until morning in case the owner picked it up. Police drove by later, it was gone.
10:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Avenue – Alarm at a business. As police were attending the alarm was cancelled as it had been set off due to frost build up.
January 21
7:46 am – Brazeau County – RR 90 – Report of theft from a logging site. Police attended and located and arrested 2 suspects. 40-year-old Michael TYMCHAK was charged with: Uttering Threats; Theft under $5000; failing to comply with a release order; failing to comply with probation order; as well as other provincial offences. TYMCHAK was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and was released on $250 cash bail to appear in Drayton Valley Provincial Court on February 1, 2022. The second suspect was released without charges.
9:36 am – Drayton Valley – Request from Edmonton Police Service to assist with a file.
9:44 am – Drayton Valley – Jubilee Avenue – Equipment shed broken in to overnight. 2 John Deere snow blowers, a Honda snow blower, a Stihl weed whipper, a Husqvarna rototiller and a Stihl chainsaw were stolen.
10:56 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Report of a stolen car. Police attended, the vehicle was not stolen but was towed due to the parking ban for snow clearing.
11:27 am – Brazeau County – Twp 510 – Attempted theft of copper wire which was interrupted by the complainant. Investigation ongoing.
11:32 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Police were called regarding a threats complaint. The suspect was arrested and released on conditions for court March 1, 2022. Charges are pending.
1:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant dropped off drug paraphernalia at the detachment for destruction.
1:32 pm – Brazeau County – Twp 491 – 2 vehicle collision, EMS attended as well, 1 person was transported to hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.
1:58 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Single vehicle collision, slid off the roadway and into the ditch causing significant damage. No injuries were reported.
2:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Police were called regarding possible drug use. Police attended and spoke with all parties, no charges.
3:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complaint of a large percentage of people are non-compliant with the mask mandate at a business. Police attended and spoke with management of the business regarding the complaint.
4:20 pm – Drayton Valley – Police were called regarding a custody dispute, both parties attended the detachment and police kept the peace while they exchanged the children.
4:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Wallet found in a parking lot. Police contacted the owner and returned it to them.
7:08 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 624 – Abandoned vehicle in the ditch, police attended and marked it with police tape.
8:56 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Dead elk on the highway. Police attended and removed the animal.
10:27 pm – Drayton Valley –Police attended a residence to assist Child and Family Services with a matter.
10:49 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Theft of a ticket from a VLT. Investigation ongoing.
11:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Call of a disturbance at a hotel. Police attended, parties were getting kicked out and left peacefully.
January 22
7:19 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Traffic hazard, broken semi frame on the highway, company was making arrangements for a crane to come remove it.
8:53 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Call of 2 people breaking in to a foreclosed residence. Police attended 1 person was issued a trespassing ticket, the other was breaching a Condition Sentence Order and was arrested and held for a Judicial Interim Release hearing, where they were released to appear in Drayton Valley Provincial court on February 15, 2022.
11:44 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant was looking for a copy of police reports, advised police could only provide file numbers, further information would need to be requested through an ATIP request.
6:12 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Multiple vehicles hitting the ditch due to icy conditions. Police attended, several were already waiting for tows or had made other arrangements. Police advise EMCON and requested a sanding truck in the area.
11:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Report of an assault, police attended and determined no assault had taken place.
January 23
12:28 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complaint of impaired driving and an assault. Police located the vehicle parked and unoccupied. No evidence provided to substantiate if the assault took place.
1:43 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Theft of truck in progress. Police attended and found the owner of the truck attempting to get in to it.
2:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Call of a homeless person asking for bottles. Police patrolled the area, unable to locate anyone.
3:01 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a possible impaired driver. Police attended and attempted to locate the vehicle but were unsuccessful.
4:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Call to assist EMS with a potentially violent person. Police attended, altercation had happened between roommates, EMS was ultimately declined and police left the residence.
4:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Found cellphone in a parking lot.
8:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Wellbeing check requested but the incorrect address was provided. Police located and confirmed the wellbeing of the person.
January 24
2:30 am – Brazeau County – Violet Grove – Police located an impaired driver who was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction for a Fail which includes a $1000 fine, 1 year driving prohibitions (eligible for the interlock program after 90 days) and 7 day vehicle seizure.
6:36 am – Brazeau County – Twp 502 – Abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was unregistered and appeared to be uninsured and was removed from the roadway.
7:12 am – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Police were called to assist with a belligerent patient. Members attended and were able to speak with the patient and he agreed to be more cooperative with nursing staff.
9:22 am – Drayton Valley – Request for assistance from Edmonton Police Service to attempt to locate a witness.
10:33 am – Drayton Valley – Request from Brazeau County Peace Officers regarding an arrest warrant.
11:18 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Call requesting information regarding a potential fraud. Complainant provided information on contacting a lawyer to begin the civil process.
11:41 am – Drayton Valley – Request from Probations regarding an arrest warrant.
1:57 pm – Brazeau County – RR 91 – Neighbour dispute, police attended and spoke with both parties who agreed to try to stay away from each other.
3:28 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 759 – Collision reported between a deer and a vehicle.
7:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Landlord/tenant dispute. Police spoke with both parties and directed them to deal with the matter through the landlord/tenant board.
11:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Report of a dispute at a residence, police attended; no physical altercation had taken place, but there was some property damage.
11:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Unwanted person at a residence, police advised the person was invited by a person who lives there and police could not remove them.
January 25
12:05 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of an impaired driver that left the bar. Police located the vehicle, the driver was given a roadside sobriety test which resulted in a fail. The driver was issued the Immediate Roadside Provincial Sanctions for impaired driving which includes a $1000 fine, 1 year driving prohibitions (eligible for the interlock program after 90 days) and 7 day vehicle seizure.
12:43 am – Drayton Valley – Police were asked for information regarding a domestic situation. No offence had taken place but provided some information and resources.
7:29 AM – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – report of Traffic hazard. House is being moved. Members attended and located house. Something had broken on the trailer and house had hit a snow bank and got stuck. Employees were conducting traffic control. No issues.
9:12 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – report of harassment via telephone. Ex continuously calls workplace in an attempt to speak with complainant. Member attended, continuation of incident the previous night. Member spoke with ex who advised they were attempting to speak with complainant in order to discuss children and visitations.
10:33 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Request received to assist with eviction. Member attended to keep the peace. No issues encountered.
10:51 am – Tomahawk – Report received of a theft from the dump. Makeshift wood stove stolen from employee shed sometime over the past 3 days. Member attended.
11:22 am – Parkland County – Bucky was running around enjoying the warm weather when he took a wrong turn and ran out onto the roadway and collided with a vehicle.
11:34 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Report of a two vehicle collision. No injuries. Member attended, one driver charged with failing to pass in safe manner.
12:14 pm – Tomahawk – Although Bucky had met his demise earlier in the day, Bucky’s sibling entered the highway as well and collided with a vehicle.
12:22 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of online fraud. Complainant stated they were communicating with an individual on Twitter who eventually began asking for money for charity. Bank advised this was a fraud.
2:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report of a female acting in an erratic manner. Individual is with another and is observed banging on doors. Members attended, no one observed. Member spoke with complainant and advised not to open their door to anyone they do not know.
2:52 pm – Lodgepole – Report received of gun shots, multiple, ongoing. Members attended area and located source of noise. No gunshots, noise coming from Trucking yard who was moving metals in the yard.
4:12 pm – Lodgepole – Report of a Break and enter to vacant residence. Broken windows, others were wide open. Members attended and cleared residence. No other evidence of Break and enter. Advised property rep to secure the windows and doors.
6:00 pm – Brazeau County – Report of a vehicle vs pedestrian collision. Pedestrian had been walking on the side of the township road. EMS transported pedestrian to hospital with undetermined injuries.
6:24 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 620 – report of an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 620. Vehicle is a silver ford Escape. Vehicle had been dealt with prior to being reported. Vehicle not obstructing traffic, vehicle was unlocked with keys in ignition. Member contacted registered owner who advised they had run out of gas.
7:10 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Mack the moose has struck again. Coming out of the ditch and colliding with a vehicle. Sadly Mack met his demise.
10:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Member on patrol around the Omniplex parking lot conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle engaging in stunting behaviour. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration and a warning for no insurance and stunting.
11:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Member on patrol located a vehicle that was unregistered. Individuals in vehicle had not been observed driving and none had a licence to drive. Vehicle towed.
11:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Request to conduct a wellbeing check on individual whose vehicle had been running for several hours. Member attended, individual was fine, vehicle had been shut off and locked.
January 26
11:54 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a speeding driver. Patrols made, vehicle not located.
12:05 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Collision between a vehicle and a deer.
12:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Report of a speeding driver in a parking lot, vehicle was unoccupied when police arrived.
2:56 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a lost license plate.
3:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Suspicious activity around the neighbourhood. Requesting extra patrols.
3:31 pm – Drayton valley – Request from Edmonton Police Service to serve a subpoena on a witness.
5:34 pm – Drayton Valley – License plate stolen from a vehicle hat has been parked since November. Unknown when it occurred.
6:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – While on patrol members located a vehicle with a prohibited driver. The driver was arrested and later released for court on April 5, 2022 in Drayton Valley. The vehicle was seized for 30 days, charges are pending.
9:17 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a dead deer on the road causing a hazard. When police arrived someone had already moved the deer onto the shoulder.
January 27
12:28 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a dispute, police attended, and parties were separated.
1:31 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Homeless person sleeping in a vestibule of a bank. Police offered to transport the person to the MAT program, but they declined and left.
1:50 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Call of someone driving a mini-quad down the highway with no lights. Police patrolled but could not locate the quad.
3:26 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Police were called to assist the Drayton Valley Fire Department with a structure fire. The fire was contained to the chimney where it was extinguished by fire.
7:25 am – Brazeau County – Country Style – Theft of truck that occurred at approximately 4:00 am. Blue 2019 Dodge Ram 1500, Alberta CHN-7357 taken from the residence.
