A decision has been made in arbitration between the Town of Drayton Valley and Brazeau County.
The two municipalities went to third party arbitration in order to work out details of their new intermunicipal collaboration framework. The two made their cases to the arbitrator during the week of Dec. 13, 2021, with recreation cost sharing being the main issue.
In a statement on the Town of Drayton Valley’s Facebook page, the Town announced that the arbitrator has handed down their decision.
Drayton Valley mayor Nancy Dodds is pleased with the decision.
“We understand the significance of these facilities for the well-being of our families and community members, and the importance of working together to provide services that contribute to a high quality of life across our community as a whole,” says Dodds in the statement.
Details of the arbitrator’s decision have not been made public yet.
