Breton RCMP assisted in the recovery of a stolen pickup truck and the arrest of a man wanted on numerous warrants.
RCMP report that on Jan. 19, 2022, the Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (CAD CRU) was working in the Breton/Thorsby area. While on an unrelated investigation, they spotted a stolen pickup truck. The truck had been stolen from a business in Warburg the day before. The truck was travelling in the Buck Lake area on Highway 22.
Road conditions were extremely poor, so RCMP called in the RCMP Helicopter to monitor the truck. The truck stopped at a business in Breton, where the driver was identified as Logan Davis, a 26-year-old Breton resident. Davis was arrested by CAD CRU, with the assistance of the Thorsby and Breton RCMP detachments.
As a result of the following investigation, Davis has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5000, dangerous driving, possessing a weapon dangerous to the public, unauthorized possession of ammunition, five counts of breach of release order, and breach of probation. In addition to these new charges, Davis was arrested on three outstanding warrants.
After a judicial hearing, Davis was remanded to custody and his court date is Jan. 26 in Breton Provincial Court.
