December 22
8:14 AM – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant called to report a semi speeding and passing people unsafely. Semi passed complainant on the bridge. Member made patrols, vehicle not located.
8:51 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a 2 vehicle collision. No injuries
9:47 am – Drayton Valley – 64 Street – Report received of a stolen white 2007 GMC Sierra.
11:00 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reported that they were at the post office. When they returned to their vehicle they noticed a dent on the back corner of his 2013 Black Dodge Ram truck.
11:29 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report received of a 2 vehicle collision between a semi truck and a Toyota Corolla. Minor injuries.
4:35 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant stated that they were following a silver Toyota van that was travelling too slow and impeding traffic. Road conditions were very bad at the time and advised the complainant of such.
6:10 pm – Drayton Valley – alarm received from residence. Member attended, new owners advised they did not know the passcode.
7:07 pm – Parkland County – RR 63 – Concerned parent called to report intoxicated individual attempting to leave the residence in vehicle. Members attended and retrieved keys from individual who was also educated on the repercussions of driving while intoxicated.
8:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of an armed robbery. Complainant stated that their 2002 Dodge Durango had been stolen from the parking lot. Complainant ran after it and another individual bear maced complainant. Matter is under investigation.
9:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of 2 unknown males in the new Wendy’s being built. Males are seen inside the construction area. Members attended and located males, who were employees working late.
December 23
12:38 am – Drayton Valley – 55A Street – Report received of suspicious noise. Complainant is working inside the bottle depot and heard one of the bay doors jostle. Member attended and patrolled the area, no one located.
8:25 am – Range Road 75 – Brazeau County – Report of a burnt out vehicle partially blocking the complainant’s driveway. Members attended a located the 2002 Dodge Durango that had been stolen the evening before from Drayton Valley.
8:35 am – Drayton Valley – Complaint contacted police reporting a possible assault on their child. Police following up with child, investigation continuing.
10:53 am – Drayton Valley – Police received a complaint of a deceased male. Police attended a determined that no foul play is suspected. Victim services contacted and attended to provide support for the family.
11:46 am – Drayton Valley – Center Court Trailer Court – Complainant called in to report on going issues with his neighbors making noises at night and creating community disharmony. Police are aware of the problem trailer.
11:54 am – Drayton Valley – Male complainant called police advising that his ex employer was not allowing him to pick up his personal items. Upon further investigation it was determined the complainant had sent someone else to pick up his items and his ex-employer was not comfortable giving his personal effects to an individual they did not know. They had asked the complainant to attend and to pick up the items himself. Complainant advised to go pick up his stuff himself.
12:26 pm – Drayton Valley – Provincial Building – Complaint received of an alarm going off in the provincial building, area was to be unoccupied. Police attended, located an alarm technician who was testing the alarms.
1:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 avenue – Driving complaint received. Complainant advised a white dodge ram had ran a stop sign causing the complainant to have to swerve to avoid the collision. Police attended and located the suspect vehicle. Police spoke with the driver who advised he was trying to stop but was unable and slid through the intersection. Driver warned to drive more appropriately for the conditions.
3:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 52nd street – 3rd party complaint received of a stolen Nissan Maxima. Members attended the area and located the vehicle parked at the registered owner’s residence. Registered owner spoken with who advised her vehicle had not been stolen.
6:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Complaint received of 3-4 homeless individuals in the lobby of the post office. Police attended but all individuals had already left.
December 24
01:40 am Brazeau County – Family Dispute – Complainant called in advising that her father will not return her belongings as he is accusing her of stealing from him. Police attended and assisted the complainant retrieving her belongings. Courtesy ride provided as alcohol was a factor in this event.
02:45 am – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Traffic stop done at 7-11. Evidence of impairment observed by the officer. The male driver refused to provide a breath sample. Driver charged and fined under provincial sanctions. Vehicle seized for 30 days.
03:24 am – Drayton Valley- 50th street – Complaint received from a local business of a male parked in their parking lot trying to have a nap in their vehicle and refusing to leave. Police attended and spoke with the male who advised he was just trying to take a nap prior to continuing on to the Calgary area. Male advised that as long as he was not on that business’s property he was ok to nap.
09:26 am – Brazeau County – Landfill – Complaint received of a suspicious looking truck parked near the homeless camp by the dump. Police attended and located the truck and the driver. All checks on the truck and driver were fine. Driver wished a Merry Christmas and sent on his way.
10:43 am – Drayton Valley – 50th Ave – Deer collision – Complainant advised that she was travelling on 50th Ave when she collided with a deer. Deer appeared to be in hurry, was possibly late for work. Police unsure if the deer had a red nose.
10:50 am – Drayton Valley – Attempted vehicle theft at the Walmart parking lot. Thieves attempted to steal a truck but were unable. Investigation continuing.
11:23 am – Drayton Valley – Family Dispute – Complainant called police advising that the Christmas cheer had left the party in the garage and it was starting to go out of control and get physical. Police attended and found that everyone had been separated. Initial fight was reported to be over a bong. All parties warned by police and it was recommended they give some time for everyone to calm down before enjoying Christmas dinner.
2:19 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Single vehicle roll over – Police were called to attend a single vehicle rollover on highway 22. Police attended but no one left at the vehicle. Registered owner contacted who advised he had helped out of his truck and given a ride home by local resident. No injuries.
10:39 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Complaint received of a possible impaired driver north bound on highway 22. Police made patrols but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. Evansburg RCMP advised as the vehicle was travelling towards their jurisdiction.
December 25
01:36 am – Range Road 83 Brazeau County – Police were dispatched to a structure fire. Police attended and found a shop fulling engulfed in flames. Fire attended and put out the fire. There were no injuries and it believed that the cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction.
06:59 am – Brazeau County – Police were dispatched to a complaint of a Break and enter to a lease site. Thieves had broken a window at the site and stole electrical cable. Police attended and photographed the scene. Investigation continuing.
08:30 am – Drayton Valley – Police were requested to conduct a wellbeing check on the complainant’s friend. Police attended and spoke with the friend who was found to be in good health but missing family. Police contacted family and encouraged them to reconnect.
1:23 pm – Drayton Valley – Police were contacted by a local business concerned for 2 members of our homeless population as it was extremely cold out and they were stuck outside. Police attended the area but were unable to locate the 2.
8:17 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Police were dispatched to a complaint of an abandoned vehicle on highway 22. Police attended and attempted to contact the registered owner but were unable to. Vehicle determined to be a traffic hazard and was towed.
9:08 pm – Brazeau County – Range Road 65 – Police were to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle stopping in front of driveways. Police contacted the registered owner of the suspicious vehicle who advised she and her boyfriend had gotten turned around on their way to Tomahawk. They has since departed the area.
9:40 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – complaint received of a vehicle in the ditch with its lights on. Police attended and spoke with the driver who advised they had slid into the ditch due to the icy road conditions and were just waiting for AMA.
December 26
04:33 am – Brazeau County – Members dispatched to a panic alarm call. Police attended the area and were able to make contact with the home owner who advised it was a false alarm.
09:17 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant contacted police to advise that his white 1997 GMC Sierra had been stolen overnight. Investigation continuing.
11:26 am – Drayton Valley – Police were dispatched to 7-11 as it was reported the business’s roof was on fire. Police attended with fire. The roof the 7-11 was not on fire, though there was an issue with a roof top heating unit and it began smoking. Unit disconnected by fire to await a technician. Slurpees are still available for all.
5:19 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Police contacted by Alberta Sheriffs reporting that an injured deer needs to be “dispatched”. Police attended and located a red nosed reindeer who had a rough past 48 hrs. Deer dispatched……sorry children.
6:49 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 and Twp 494 – Police were travelling north on highway 22 when they observed a vehicle in the ditch. The member stopped to ensure everyone was ok. The driver of the vehicle advised a white SUV did a U-turn in front of him and he was forced to take the ditch to avid a collision. Patrols made for the white SUV but police were unable to locate it.
8:51 pm – Drayton Valley – Police stopped a vehicle for failing to signal. Police obtained suspicion the driver had consumed alcohol and a roadside breath test was done. Driver blew a caution. Driver was a GDL. Driver charged under Provincial Sanctions.
December 27
09:01 am – Brazeau County – Highway 22 and Twp 500 – Complainant called police requesting an injured deer be “dispatched”. Police attended and located a red nose reindeer (known to police) who appears to have magical powers but is unable to stay off Highway 22. Deer once again dispatched.
09:09 am – Drayton Valley – Police were dispatched to an alarm at a local business. Members attended and spoke to the property rep who advised it was a false alarm.
11:39 am – Drayton Valley – Police were dispatched to mischief at local business. It appeared somebody had shot the business door with possibly a pellet gun. Investigation is continuing.
12:53 pm – Drayton Valley – Police were dispatched an abandoned 911 call. Police called the number back and spoke with a female who advised she was calling an ambulance for her husband but had hung up by accident. EMS was currently on scene and she did not require any police assistance.
4:16 pm – Drayton Valley – Police were dispatched to a call of a suicidal female. Police attended the address and located the female on floor in medical distress. EMS contacted and attended. Female left in the care of EMS.
5:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Police were dispatched to an alarm going off at the pool. Police attended and cleared the building. No one located inside, unknown what triggered the alarm.
11:12 pm – Tomahawk – Police were requested to conduct a well being check on a male near Tomahawk who had texted their friend advising they hurt because they were so cold. Police determined the male was in Rimbey. Police were able to talk to the male who advised he was o.k. Rimbey RCMP advised and were going to follow up with the male the next day.
11:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Police were contacted advising that a male wanted out of Wetaskawin for abducting his son may be staying at a local hotel. Members looked into the investigation and determined the male had turned himself in this evening. No need to attend the hotel.
December 28
00:16 am – Drayton Valley – EMS contacted police requesting that police attend to assist with a possible domestic situation. Police attended, split up the parties and determined it was a fight over the dog and alcohol and marijuana use was a factor in this event. Parties split up for the night to sober up.
10:21 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Report of custody dispute. Members mediated the situation.
11:40 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report of a homeless person sleeping in the post office. Members attended, individual had already left.
11:59 am – Brazeau County – Report of custody dispute. Members attended and mediated the situation.
1:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 49B Street – Request to assist individual who stated they had been kicked out of their residence. Complainant would like to attend the residence to collect their belongings. Complainant called back shortly after to advised they had come to an agreement and police were no longer required.
3:52 pm – Drayton Valley – Report that their ex has told them they are going to put all their belongings outside. Complainant is not on the lease and they are being evicted. Member attended and spoke with both parties. All belongings were piled neatly in the living room.
4:52 pm – Brazeau County – Report of a suspicious vehicle on a lease site. Chain has been cut on the locked gate. Members made patrols and checked nearby offender properties, vehicle not located.
5:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a white Chevrolet Truck in the middle of the road on Hwy 22. Member attended, no one in vehicle and vehicle turned off. Member called registered owner who advised the vehicle had broken down.
7:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unwanted male and female in the vestibule of the ATB. Member attended, both male and female had left prior to arrival
