November is Family Violence Prevention Month in Alberta, and the Pembina Crisis Connection Society (PCCS) in Drayton Valley is marking the occasion with its Purple Lights Campaign.
Throughout the month, residents are encouraged to add a purple light to their home to show support for domestic and gender-based violence survivors and help raise awareness of the issue.
If you have a purple light on your porch or in your window, you can send a photo to the PCCS, which also sells purple lights.
Two in three females and one in three males have experienced sexual violence in Alberta in their lifetime, according to provincial government data.
