An Evansburg resident charged with manslaughter will soon find out if his case has enough evidence to go to trial.
Neil Gow, 52, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in the Evansburg Court of Justice on Feb. 1, 2027.
It was on May 27, 2026, when Evansburg RCMP responded to a report that a suspect hit someone with their pickup truck near the Pembina Arena, put the person in the back of the truck and drove off.
Police reported the victim was taken to the hospital after they were located, and the suspect was arrested and remanded into custody.
Police said the victim, 46-year-old Danielle Sanders, also of Evansburg, died in hospital on May 28. An autopsy ruled the death a homicide.
As a result, Gow was charged with manslaughter. A previous charge of aggravated assault was withdrawn.
