An Ontario resident was recently arrested by the Drayton Valley RCMP on multiple alleged offences.
On Sept. 23, Drayton Valley RCMP conducted a traffic stop. Police say they observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and arrested the five occupants.
One passenger reportedly provided a fake name, but was identified as someone with a Canada-wide warrant for violating parole. Police later released the other four occupants.
Officers report seizing the following items after a search of the vehicle and its occupants:
- 187.9 grams of cocaine
- 28.1 grams of methamphetamine
- Two grams of fentanyl
- $1,395 in Canadian currency
- Conducted energy device (stun gun)
- Drug trafficking paraphernalia
As a result, a 33-year-old male resident of Thunder Bay, Ont., was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x3)
- Obstruction of a police officer
- Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Failure to comply with a weapon prohibition order
He was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley on Oct. 6.
