A Drayton Valley resident has been arrested for his alleged connection to drug trafficking in the Enoch Cree Nation.
On Sept. 11, Enoch RCMP received a complaint of suspected drug trafficking near Lapotac Boulevard in Enoch.
Police say they attended the location and found two male suspects matching the descriptions provided by the complainant.
Through their investigation, officers reported viewing surveillance footage showing one male withdrawing cash from an ATM and a second male handing what police believe was a quantity of drugs to him.
Both males were arrested. The RCMP alleges that about 27 grams of suspected methamphetamine was found on the suspects.
As a result, a 24-year-old male Drayton Valley resident has been arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance. A 34-year-old male Edmonton resident was also arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance and failure to comply with a probation order.
The charges are pending crown approval.
Both individuals were released from police custody with conditions and are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert on Dec. 23, 2026.
