Frost-Yellow Advisory issued for Drayton Valley and surrounding region

A Frost-Yellow Advisory has been issued for many areas of Alberta, including the Drayton Valley region.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), temperatures are expected to drop to, or below zero, giving widespread frost.

Meteorologists add, however, that temperatures will moderate mid morning on Wednesday.

Damage to plants, trees, and crops is possible.

Residents are encouraged to take preventative measures to protect cold-sensitive plants, trees, and crops. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.

Frost advisories are issued when widespread frost or freezing temperatures are expected during the growing season.
