Parkland RCMP is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect allegedly connected to a boating collision on Jackfish Lake.
At about 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 26, Parkland RCMP received a 911 crash notification originating from the lake. The notification included the sound of a boat engine running, but no other communication was heard.
Police investigated and spoke with two individuals who said their inflatable boat had allegedly been struck by a Sea-Doo travelling at a high rate of speed.
Both occupants of the inflatable boat were ejected into the water, with one individual reportedly sustaining serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The RCMP is seeking assistance in identifying the driver of the sea-doo. He is described as:
- Mid- to late-20s
- Fair complexion
- Stocky build
- Brown, curly/wavy hair
- Facial hair
