Brazeau County is receiving $861,000 from the Alberta government for a culvert replacement.
The grant is being provided through the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP), a $29.3 million fund for critical upgrades to transportation infrastructure.
“Maintaining safe and dependable roads is vital for our agricultural producers, industry partners and everyday drivers in Brazeau County,” commented Dallas Ekstrom, acting reeve of Brazeau County. “Provincial support through the STIP program enables us to carry out these essential infrastructure upgrades while keeping the financial burden off our local taxpayers. We appreciate Alberta’s continued investment in the safety and long-term vitality of our rural road network.”
The culvert replacement is intended to enhance the structural integrity and long-term resilience of the county’s road network. Officials say replacing the aging infrastructure should improve drainage, prevent road degradation and ensure safe passage for commuters, agricultural producers and commercial trucks for years to come.
