A new tourism network is connecting visitors with ways to explore the Drayton Valley and Brazeau County region.
The This is Drayton Valley Tourism Network is a new digital visitor platform that highlights local businesses, attractions, accommodations, events, outdoor recreation and experiences throughout the region.
The site has been developed through a partnership between the Drayton Valley Museum and Archives, Drayton Valley Hospitality and Tourism Authority and the Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council.
It includes an interactive regional map as well as curated itineraries like “Stay and Explore” and “Wild Side of Drayton Valley,” designed to help visitors discover more of the area.
“The tourism network gives visitors an easy way to discover more of what Drayton Valley and the surrounding region have to offer,” says Ryan Fynn, President, Drayton Valley Hospitality and Tourism Authority. “By connecting local businesses, attractions and experiences through one network, we can encourage visitors to explore further, stay longer and support more of our local businesses while they’re here.”
Participating businesses, attractions, accommodations and experiences can be identified through network partner signage and associated QR codes. Those codes can be scanned to access the network and discover nearby activities and attractions.
“The network creates an opportunity to connect visitors with the incredible outdoor recreation and natural spaces found throughout the region,” comments Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council Executive Director Sandra Bannard. “By making it easier to discover trails, parks and outdoor experiences alongside local businesses and attractions, we hope visitors will venture beyond the places they already know and discover something new.”
With hiking, camping, paddling, fishing, trail exploration, local restaurants, shopping, arts and culture, museums, family-friendly attractions and community events all available in the region, the network aims to showcase it all to visitors and make it easier for them to discover places they otherwise might not encounter.
The network is active now, and more information on participating businesses and itineraries is also available on its Facebook and Instagram pages.
