Alberta Day, a celebration of the founding of the province of Alberta, is Sept. 1, and Drayton Valley is one of many communities celebrating the occasion.
On Aug. 28, multiple activities take place at the Drayton Valley Museum and Archives from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Following opening remarks by local dignitaries, a hot dog barbecue takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and museum tours run until 2 p.m. A local author will also host a book reading, and yard games will be on site.
Alberta Day activities in Drayton Valley are hosted by the Drayton Valley Historical Society in partnership with the Town of Drayton Valley, Brazeau County and the Alberta government.
