The Town of Drayton Valley says the Ricochet Aquatic Centre will be closed Aug. 31 to Sept. 28 for annual maintenance.
Town officials say the length of the closure is due to the scope of the work, which requires about seven days to drain the pools and seven days to refill them. Additional time is then needed to properly treat the water so it is safe for public use.
During the closure, the following work is scheduled:
- Draining and cleaning all pools
- Deep cleaning throughout the facility
- Painting
- Tile repairs
- Water treatment and balancing
The facility adds that swim passes will be extended to accommodate the closure.
