It’s 10 years in jail for a Yellowhead County man charged in a deadly altercation last fall.
Levi Allen Williamson, 40, a resident of Yellowhead County, was sentenced in Edmonton Court of King’s Bench on Aug. 5, 2026, after being convicted on counts of manslaughter /use of firearm, and flight from peace officer.
Williamson was also given a lifetime firearm prohibition, while one count of dangerous operation was withdrawn.
It was on Oct. 7, 2025, when Evansburg RCMP were called to the incident but were assisted by Mayerthorpe RCMP, Edson RCMP, as well as Alberta RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft System and Police Dog Services.
Once on scene, police found a deceased man who was identified as 50-year-old Robert Brett Macleod, a resident of Yellowhead County.
Police began looking for the suspect, who fled the scene to Spruce Grove, where he was arrested. Police say the two men knew each other.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit took control of the investigation.
