Parkland RCMP is seeking public assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle that allegedly hit a pedestrian in Parkland County.
At 11:13 p.m. on June 14, Parkland RCMP responded to a call on Larry’s Road, near Range Road 15.
Police say their investigation determined that between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., a pickup truck was travelling down the road when it allegedly hit a male youth pedestrian and fled the scene. The truck is described as an older, dark coloured Chevrolet pickup with a grey canopy and one burnt-out headlight.
Officers report, the youth was located on the road, assessed and treated by EMS for injuries.
“Those involved may be scared; however, fleeing the scene and leaving a victim behind is egregious and unacceptable,” commented Constable Butcher, Parkland RCMP. “We urge those involved to turn themselves in to the RCMP.”
In the meantime, the RCMP is requesting witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage near Larry’s Road and Range Road 15, between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., or with footage of a vehicle matching the pickup described, to contact the Parkland RCMP non-emergency line at 825-220-7267. If you want to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app.
