May 7
5:24 p.m. – Violet Grove – Complainant reported a truck abandoned in her yard the previous evening. A male came to the complainant’s door and said the truck broke down. Member attended and determined that the truck was not stolen, though there would have been traffic offences had the truck been located driving.
9:51 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported someone had left her residence driving under the influence of alcohol. Members patrolled the area and checked the suspect driver’s residence but were unable to locate him or the vehicle.
11:04 p.m. – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported a suspicious truck parked by the entrance to Poplar Ridge Trailer Park. Members located the truck and initiated a traffic stop. Investigation led to the driver being issued a provincial impaired driving suspension and impoundment of the truck. The driver was also issued a ticket for having no insurance.
May 8
1:34 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two acquaintances were following her and yelling at her while she walked up the street. Member investigated and checked the area, including speaking to staff at a store she had been in; no one found in the area. Complaint related to ongoing mental health issues.
5:02 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a dispute between himself and another male, and possibly a domestic between the other male and a female. Member investigated and determined there had been a dispute between the two males, but nothing involving the female. Both males admitted to losing their tempers. No charges, though there had been a window broken on an uninvolved vehicle; damage to be paid for by one of the males.
8:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a service business operating without proper licensing. Member forwarded the information to Town of Drayton Valley for investigation.
10:16 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that in mid March his mailbox was broken into and at the time it appeared nothing was missing, but now there have been several fraudulent cheques written on his account. Under investigation.
2:05 p.m. – Yellowhead County – Complainant reported wire stolen from a remote compressor site.
2:34 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported receiving threatening messages from a male regarding the overdose death of his girlfriend that occurred in BC. Member unable to identify the male suspect but it does not appear the suspect knows the complainant’s location.
May 9
3:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male shoplifted a bottle of Pepsi. Member located the male who apologized stating that due to hearing impairment he was unaware his debit card had been declined. Member went and paid for the Pepsi, even though he prefers energy drinks.
10:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being threatened by a male after refusing to have sexual relations at his residence. Under investigation.
May 10
10:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being punched in the face by a male she did not know. Complainant had asked a neighbour and his friend to stop riding a dirt bike in the lane as it was annoying and affecting her ability to sleep. The neighbour’s friend responded by punching the complainant on the jaw and then urinating. Members attended and identified the suspect who rather than remain and speak with officers, decided to ride his friends e-scooter back home. Members then attended the suspects residence and confirmed he was home, but he refused to come out and speak to police. Members obtained a telephone warrant to enter the residence and arrest the suspect. Forcible entry was made and the male was arrested and held in cells overnight to sober up. In the morning he was released with a court date and appropriate conditions.
May 11
1:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported the theft of about $10,000 worth of tools that were fraudulently obtained by a person claiming to be an employee of a legitimate local company. Theft occurred in February, under investigation.
3:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that an acquaintance is sending her images of him being intimate with his girlfriend. The images are being sent to TV’s he installed on the back of her eyelids. Complainant is well known for such complaints. Referral made to RPACT (rural police and crisis team) for followup.
11:23 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported loud music and noise from a neighbour’s apartment. Member attended and told the resident to keep the noise down. Complainant provided some additional suggestions should the issues persist.
May 12
12:15 a.m. – Poplar Ridge – Members on patrol stopped to check on a fire to confirm it was in a firepit and not involving any structures. While at the residence members seized a small bag of suspected methamphetamine. Several people present had “no idea” who it belonged to; the drugs were seized for destruction.
7:15 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported neighbours’ cows were in her yard. Member forwarded the call to Brazeau County Peace Officers.
9:09 a.m. – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported that his 1983 Yamaha Virago motorcycle was stolen from in front of his residence sometime overnight. Under investigation.
2:38 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that his ex-landlord evicted him illegally. Member spoke to the complainant and directed him to speak to the Landlord Tenant Branch.
2:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Complainant reported dogs in a vehicle for an hour, possibly in distress. Drayton Valley Enforcement Services were already attending the call, and the involved vehicle had since left the location.
4:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported jerry cans stolen from his truck while he was shopping. Under investigation, incident captured on surveillance video.
5:39 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Complainant reported a gold 2005 Ford F350, AB plate CSJ8052, along with an industrial laser cleaning machine was stolen from a commercial building sometime over the past few days. Under investigation.
6:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members investigated a report of a domestic assault that occurred at a local hotel. A male from Medicine Hat was located, arrested and charged with Assault, Mischief, Uttering Threats and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a Justice of the Peace with conditions and a court date.
6:23 p.m. – Yellowhead County – Complainant reported copper wire stolen from a remote lease site, occurred sometime over the previous night. Under investigation.
May 13
12:58 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics for a report that a male accidentally backed his pickup into his wife in a driveway. Members determined the incident was accidental and occurred while the male was backing over a curb.
3:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male drove up to the farmers market prior to opening and proceeded to yell and swear at staff before speeding off. The male was spoken to by phone and told not to attend the market. Police are confused about how a farmers’ market could make someone angry.
4:12 p.m. – Rocky Rapids area – Complainant reported a suspicious male walking on Twp Rd 500, possibly scoping out properties. Complainant reported the male had a company badge on indicating he worked for a utility company. The male was not located.
9:12 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a male had sent her suicidal messages. Members eventually located the male in a parked vehicle, actively trying to harm himself. The male was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to an appropriate facility for treatment.
May 14
12:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being assaulted by an ex who entered her residence without an invite. Members attended and found that the male had left to points unknown, and the complainant was not willing to provide further information.
7:34 a.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Complainant reported hearing gunshots earlier in the morning and then learning from a school bus driver that a suspicious older camper was seen in the area. The camper had since left headed east. Member patrolled the area but was the camper was not located.
