A fire restriction is in effect for Brazeau County and the Town of Drayton Valley.
Drayton Valley/Brazeau County Fire Services officials say the restriction is being issued due to warm and dry weather conditions over the past week, causing a high fire hazard.
Under the restriction, permitted activities include:
- Wood campfires in approved fire pits
- Portable propane fire pits
- Gas or propane stoves and barbecues
- Charcoal or pellet barbecues
- Catalytic or infrared-style heaters
- Approved and certified incinerators (agricultural use)
Existing fire permits are still valid, but no new permits will be issued until the restriction is lifted.
