April 23
9:59 a.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Members attended the homeless encampment to assist firefighters called to attend a fire. One woman in the homeless camp was injured and transported to hospital in Edmonton. The fire appears to have started accidentally.
11:17 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that a male drove away from a gas station with the nozzle still attached to his vehicle, reportedly a red GM pickup. The driver stopped, removed the nozzle and drove off. No plate was obtained.
1:56 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics with a deceased male. Death not suspicious, and after consultation, the medical examiner will not be conducting an autopsy.
3:24 p.m. – Brazeau County – Emergency protection order (EPO) received to be served on a male. Male located and EPO served.
April 24
9:56 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Member located and arrested a female on a traffic warrant issued by Alberta Sheriffs. After the fine was paid, the female was released.
1:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Hotel staff reported a female due out at noon was still in her room and was suspected of using drugs. Staff also reported that a suspicious male kept coming and going. Member attended and found the suspects had vacated the room and left the property.
3:27 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a horse on the road past the bridge. Incident dealt with by county peace officers and conservation.
April 25
3:06 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St – Complainant reported an abandoned but still running truck near the intersection of 45 Street. Members attended and located the truck, which had crashed into some boulders off the road. The occupants of the truck had left on foot. Under investigation with a possible suspect identified.
7:44 p.m. – Brazeau County – File opened to investigate some potential harassment by an ex.
April 26
1:56 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Staff at the bar reported two males arguing, concerned the situation could turn physical. Members attended and spoke to one male who agreed to go home. The second male had already left prior to police arriving. Indications are that the two were engaged in the timeless male ritual often described as chest-puffing or squaring off.
10:19 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a family members husband was having a mental breakdown. Members attended and spoke to the male who disclosed some current stressors as well as problems with medications. Member provided the male a courtesy ride to the hospital.
1:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported some child welfare concerns and requested a check on his children who were at his ex’s residence. Member attended and did not identify any concerns but did arrest the ex’s current boyfriend as he was breaching a release order issued on April 17. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded in custody by a justice of the peace.
10:15 p.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Complainant reported that a male was drunk and trying to start a fight with her. Members attended and found the two had separated already; the male was sober and left the area, the female complainant was intoxicated but not committing any offences.
April 27
10:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley – A youth attended the detachment to report being assaulted by a family member. Under investigation.
2:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a possible breach of a no-contact order after an ex tried to follow her on a social media app. Under investigation.
4:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that someone left old court documents relating to him taped to his current girlfriend’s car while she was at work. Under investigation.
April 28
1:05 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Member on patrol located a female intoxicated and breaching her curfew. The female was arrested, held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a justice of the peace with a court date.
12:53 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a dispute with her hairdresser over a missed appointment that led to a horrid exchange of messages and anonymous negative comments suddenly appearing on her business page, along with some veiled threats. Member documented the incident but will not be investigating further, in part due to the messages appearing to have been reciprocated. Complainant was provided some suggestions on how to deal with the issues.
3:14 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male face down on the sidewalk in front of a store. Member located the male in another adjacent store where he was shopping. The male admitted to being intoxicated but said he experienced some dizziness due to low blood sugars. Member determined the male did not need to sober up in cells.
3:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being assaulted by her ex after he forced himself back into her residence. Members attended and located the male who was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on a charge of assault. The male was released by a justice of the peace with a court date and appropriate conditions.
April 29
2:20 a.m. – Lodgepole – Member on patrol checked a vehicle stopped with four-way flashers on. The 2025 car had broken down, and a tow had been called, but the occupants didn’t have a way home. Member spoke to the tow company and then provided the three a ride home.
10:06 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported mischief to a building on a lease site that had apparently been used for paint ball practice.
2:53 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported possible fraudulent activity by a family member after she learned of refund cheques that were never received by her. Complainant suspects the family member opened her mail and deposited the cheques to their own account. Under investigation.
3:57 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported her spouse made some threatening gestures toward her. Member interviewed the complainant and learned of previous sexual assaults by the spouse. Under investigation.
4:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that she purchased a used vehicle and learned that a male had been planning to buy the vehicle until his arrest put a kink in the purchase plan. Apparently, the male said he left something in the vehicle. Member searched the vehicle thoroughly and didn’t locate anything suspicious or concerning.
6:45 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported that his teenage son had pushed him and wouldn’t listen to him. Members attended the residence and spoke to both parties; the son counter claimed that his father put him in a headlock, but members did not see any marks or injuries. The complainant also claimed his son had shoved him and threatened to kick his buttocks. Arrangements were made for the son to be picked up by his grandparents for a cooling down period.
6:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a possibly homeless person riding a bike and carrying a chainsaw near Dairy Queen. Member unable to locate the person or confirm any offence.
