April 9
2:24 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported being sexually assaulted by an ex-spouse. Investigation lead to a charge being recommended to Crown Prosecutors.
3:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported two Amazon packages stolen off his porch. A potential suspect name was provided and investigated, but identity could not be confirmed.
3:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her husband was assaulted during a painful medical procedure. He had asked the doctor performing the procedure to stop due to excessive pain, but the procedure was continued. Under investigation, potential to refer to the appropriate professional college.
3:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported his garage broken into; garage door opener and some documents stolen. Member investigated but was unable to identify any suspects. Member provided some advice on preventing subsequent related offences.
4:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – RV Park – Complainant reported that his ex was intoxicated and refusing to leave his trailer. Members attended and arrested the female, who was held in cells until sober.
6:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened in conjunction with another police agency to investigate a local male who tried to obtain a vehicle loan by fraudulent means. Under investigation.
6:12 p.m. – Parkland County – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported an ex took an old cell phone of his and was able to take money from his bank account. Complainant did not want police to investigate further at this time.
8:53 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Third-party complaint received of a domestic/family dispute involving a couple and their children. Member attended and determined the male was at work and the female stated there was no such dispute, though her brother and a friend had been drinking on her lawn, and after getting into an argument, she told them to leave. The female suspected her brother’s friend of trying to cause issues by making the report to police.
10:03 p.m. – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant reported an unknown suspect cut a hole in the fence of a business yard and stole a spotlight.
April 10
9:47 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a possible EPO (Emergency Protection Order) breach that occurred the previous night. Under investigation.
12:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Member investigated a fight between two youth near the bus hub. Member determined it was a consensual fight, tickets to be issued to both.
12:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being victimized by a fraudster. Complainant met someone online and ended up sending approximately $15,000 worth of Apple gift cards. Member provided advice including to stop communicating and block further contact, and to not send further gift card numbers. Unfortunately, investigative options are extremely limited.
2:53 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported a counterfeit $100 bill passed by two males who obtained products. Under investigation.
11:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members responded to a report of a bar fight; two males were engaged in a shouting match that escalated. Security had separated the two and when members arrived one had already left. Members ensured the remaining male settled his bar tab prior to escorting him from the premise.
April 11
11:05 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a possible incident of sexual interference. Under investigation.
2:50 p.m. – Cynthia – Complainant reported a break-in to a commercial property, occurred sometime in the past five or six days.
5:53 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Skate Park – Complainant reported boys were yelling at her and a friend and had thrown water and other items at them. Member spoke to the boys involved who said the complainant and friend were sitting on top and making fun of people and they thought it was all just friends messing around. Under investigation.
9:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Rotary Park area – Complainant reported that a male had yelled at her to get off his property while on the sidewalk in front of the house, and that he pointed a firearm at her. Members identified the suspect and determined he was intoxicated at the time and that the firearm was a pellet gun still in packaging that he had just picked up from a neighbour. Under investigation.
11:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported an iron had been thrown out at a neighbour’s window causing glass and debris to land on his property. Member attended and spoke to a known male who said the iron incident was an accident and that he would clean up the mess the following morning. Member had not previously experienced an accidental iron through window incident and could understand why the complainant was steamed.
11:49 p.m. – Brazeau County – Member dispatched to a hangup 911 call; a male reported being attacked and then hung up. The male called back later stating his spouse was abusing him. Member called the male back and learned that both he and his spouse were intoxicated but had separated themselves for the night. Neither were interested in cooperating with police.
April 12
8:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – RV Park – Complainant reported a male hadn’t paid pad rent and so his trailer was being towed; wanted to advise police in case the male became upset. Member attended and kept the peace. Second related call received from the male.
April 13
9:25 a.m. – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported his 2025 red Chevy Blazer had been stolen from his yard sometime overnight. Under investigation.
1:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported having a standoff with his bank over concerns of elder financial abuse by another family member. Under investigation.
2:22 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reported an older blue pickup stunting in the area. Member located the truck and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation at the scene determined that the male driver was impaired and already suspended due to two prior provincial impaired driving suspensions. The driver was issued a court summons for driving while suspended, a subsequent provincial impaired driving suspension with greater penalties and the truck was impounded.
5:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported third-party information that two shady persons were parked in a truck in front of her residence while she was not home. Further information was that the white truck and another had been seen leaving the area. Member patrolled the area but did not locate any such suspicious trucks.
5:44 p.m. – Brazeau County – Easyford area – Complainant reported a breach of a no-contact order by indirect contact through a family member. Under investigation.
11:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported receiving numerous anonymous number calls with a male disguising his voice with a fake accent making threats. Complainant believed it was related to an earlier file reported to Breton RCMP. Safety planning completed, threats remain under investigation by Breton RCMP.
April 14
1:57 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 48 St – Complainant reported a male on a bike pulling a trailer appeared to be scoping out a neighbour’s garage prior to riding away. Member patrolled the area but did not locate the suspicious male.
2:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant called 911 because she was unable to get inside her residence. Members attended and while assisting located another tenant with a warrant out of Edmonton Police Service. Member arrested the male and subsequently released him with a court date in Edmonton as per the wishes of EPS.
12:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported second-hand information that a female may have taken a bunch of pills in attempt at self-harm. Members attended and spoke to the female who was found to be intoxicated but a danger to herself.
5:20 p.m. – Brazeau County – area of the horse trails – Complainant reported an abandoned truck. Member queried the VIN and determined it had been reported stolen March 3 in Spruce Grove. Member contacted the owner who arranged his own tow as the truck had not been insured. The truck appeared to have been at the location for several weeks.
10:02 p.m. – Brazeau County – Birchwood – Complainant reported a family member attended his residence intoxicated and broke his laptop. Members attended but the female had left and couldn’t be located in the area. Members were called back about an hour later and located the daughter in the yard; she was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on three charges of breaching conditions as well as one count of mischief; she was subsequently released by a justice of the peace with a court date.
10:22 p.m. – Violet Grove – Complainant reported his roommate was intoxicated and becoming aggressive. Complainant was concerned the area might become Violent Grove. Members attended and provided the intoxicated male a courtesy ride to an alternate location.
April 15
8:44 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 near Twp Rd 504 – Members dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover collision. Witnesses reported the SUV was heading north and lost control on snow and ice, went off the road and rolled several times into a field. The female driver and only occupant was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased by paramedics. Evidence indicated that the driver was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision. Next of kin notified, investigation ongoing.
April 16
1:09 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that she broke up with her intoxicated boyfriend after he told her he was leaving her residence to go buy drugs. He then returned, and when not allowed back inside, he damaged the door to gain entry. Members attended and arrested the male for failing to comply with probation and mischief. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a justice of the peace with conditions and a court date.
2:09 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle due to a strong smell of cannabis noticed while driving behind the vehicle. Driver determined to be operating while impaired by drug. Under investigation.
