March 19
1:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Meraw Estates – Complainant reported that a phone supposedly delivered to his front door via courier was not received, and the company could not prove delivery. The company requested a police file number. File number provided.
3:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported that the previous afternoon, three male youths walked up to and kicked her front door and then ran away. Unknown descriptions of the youth, member suggested the complainant consider a doorbell camera.
5:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported a bicycle stolen from her yard in the past two days. Bicycle described as red with a flexible lock attached.
6:15 p.m. – Tomahawk – Complainant reported her landlord and family may be hacking her accounts and stealing small amounts of cash. Multiple calls received from both parties as this led to a confrontation and the landlord locking the complainant outside. Members attended and told the landlord that she must allow access as the complainant is a tenant and provided some suggestions. Complainant advised she is planning to move soon. Member suspected the initial complaint was a result of mental health issues; RPACT (Rural Police and Crisis Team) already involved with the complainant.
6:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported that on two different occasions suspects stole e-scooters. Under investigation, suspects captured on surveillance video but not yet identified.
March 20
8:05 a.m. – Brazeau County – Cynthia area – Complainant reported suspects entered a lease site and stole copper wire.
8:12 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Assist Edmonton Police in serving a witness subpoena on a local female. Subpoena served.
12:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members dispatched to a hang-up 911 call from a female stating she was in distress and other comments indicating she may be intoxicated. Member attended and found the female was not in distress; she stated the male whose apartment she was at would drive her home. The male advised members he was apprehensive of driving her home due to her intoxication and erratic behaviour. Members provided the female a courtesy ride to her own residence.
1:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – PCHAD (protection of children abusing drugs) order received for the apprehension of a youth. Member located the youth who was transported to a location in Edmonton as required.
2:00 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Members responded to a collision between a B-train gravel truck and a farm tractor. The truck driver was heading north and was attempting to pass the slow-moving tractor when it turned into a field. Both vehicles ended up in the field and on their sides. The male driving the tractor was transported to Edmonton for treatment of serious injuries.
7:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported a suspicious car parked behind a residence with the lights on for about 45 minutes. Member attended and found a male was helping to move a female out of the residence and others milling about. Member suspected some drug consumption, but the suspicion could not be confirmed.
7:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported another male is harassing him when he walks by his motel room. Member attended and determined from witnesses and video surveillance that the complainant is the one trying to provoke the other. Member told both to avoid each other until the complainant leaves in about a week.
March 21
10:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to charge a male who failed to appear in court.
12:54 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Ave – Complainant reported a package containing gold dancing shoes stolen from her community mailbox.
4:01 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported finding bent staples on his driveway, suspects a neighbour may be involved. Under investigation.
10:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members dispatched (again) to a male dealing with mental health issues. EMS attended and checked the male who did not need medical treatment and was not thinking of harming himself. Members told the male to go to bed and sleep off his intoxication.
March 22
12:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported that his ex was harassing him with repeated calls and messages. Member spoke to both and advised them to cease any further contact. Insufficient grounds to charge.
5:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported a male known to have warrants was seen inside a store. Members checked the store and area but didn’t locate the male, though he was captured on video surveillance running away. The male was located and arrested the following morning.
6:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported observing a male and female in a yard and one of them kicking a dog. Complainant believed there were not supposed to be any dogs at the residence. Member investigated and forwarded the file to Drayton Valley Enforcement Services as there apparently were some conditions regarding animals at the location.
6:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported observing a physical dispute between a male and female in a pickup truck. Members located the truck and spoke to the couple inside but determined there had only been a heated argument. No grounds to charge.
March 23
10:41 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported that a male with warrants was at her residence. Members located and arrested the male who was hiding in a bedroom. He could run (see March 22 at 6:19 p.m.) but he could not hide.
11:53 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that about two weeks earlier she had been victimized by a fraudster claiming to be a family member needing money. The fraudster told her a family member was in a bad accident and now in jail needing money. A suspect had attended her residence to pickup the money. A second attempt to obtain further cash was unsuccessful in part because she was advised by her bank that it was a scam.
12:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a business was operating without a current liquor or business license. Member attended and confirmed the situation, likely due to a recent ownership change. Town of Drayton Valley advised of the business license issue and the bar was shut down until the liquor license was again active.
1:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended a business for a report of a deceased male; paramedics had attended after the male collapsed but were unsuccessful in reviving him. Nothing suspicious regarding the death and after consultation the medical examiner will not be investigating further.
1:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that he received a fraudulent text with a supposed link to his bank. Complainant clicked on the link and ended up losing $3,000 from his account. Under investigation.
2:46 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to charge a male who failed to appear in court.
March 24
4:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 St – Complainant reported a female crying and screaming in the street and that the female tried to come into the complainant’s residence. Members located and arrested the intoxicated female, who was held in cells until sober.
8:55 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Three files opened to charge two males and a female who all failed to attend court.
6:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Staff requested removal of a female from the property. Member attended and removed the often-disruptive female who was transported to another location.
March 25
1:59 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 491 – Complainant reported a suspicious truck backed into a lease entrance. Members attended and spoke to the occupants who said they stopped for a urination break. The driver was unable to provide valid insurance or registration. Appropriate tickets were issued and the truck was towed.
10:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant requested a wellbeing check on a male youth at the back of a parking lot. Member determined the 17-year-old had been dropped off in Drayton Valley by his mother after they argued; he had since been picked up by his adult sister and taken to the hospital as he wasn’t dressed for the weather. Member spoke to both siblings at the hospital where both stated there were no concerns about abuse.
11:23 p.m. – Cynthia – Complainant reported a neighbour moving equipment at a business causing noise. Member suggested the complainant speak to Brazeau County Peace Officers about the concerns.
