February 19
1:03 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Members responded to a collision involving a b-train tanker and an SUV, just west of Lodgepole. The semi driver was transported to hospital for treatment, while the driver of the SUV was not injured. Initial reports are that the SUV driver, who had just been towed from the north side ditch, attempted a U-turn as the semi came from the west around a bend. The SUV was thrown into the south ditch, and the tanker lost control and ended in the ditch with both tanks on their side and the tractor heavily damaged. Under investigation.
3:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Assist Probation with adding a warrant for a male who failed to comply with conditions.
February 20
12:11 p.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Complainant reported that sometime in the past five days, cable was ripped from a transformer at a lease site.
2:42 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported being victimized by a person who he thought was a friend. Complainant is now missing a significant amount of money from his bank account. Under investigation.
2:36 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a firearm missing; the firearm was registered to a deceased family member and is unaccounted for.
3:47 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported his truck was stolen from where he had parked it while working. Complainant had left the keys in the cupholder. Complainant located the truck in the area later the same day.
February 21
3:24 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 759/Twp Rd 494 – Complainant reported a vehicle in the ditch. Members attended and found three occupants, all uninjured. The driver provided samples of his breath, both resulted in a “fail.” The driver was issued a provincial impaired driving suspension and the vehicle was impounded. The driver was also arrested due to a warrant from Edmonton Police.
6:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a 2014 F-550 truck stolen from a hotel parking lot at about 5:30 a.m.; a worker had started the truck and then left it unlocked and running to warm up. The truck was recovered later in the day after it was left in a laneway in town. Under investigation.
7:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant requested assistance locating his daughter, who had been a passenger in the vehicle police dealt with at 3:24 a.m. Member advised that the complainant’s daughter and a friend had been given a ride to a safe location in town to await a ride.
9:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that two females’ police had dropped off earlier (see previous file) were passed out in a gas station bathroom and had made a mess. Member attended and confirmed a ride was on the way and there did not appear to be a large mess, staff was okay with them remaining until they were picked up.
4:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant reported a truck abandoned backed up to his garage; complainant had seen on social media that the truck was stolen (see 6:10 a.m.). Members attended and recovered the truck which was held for a forensic examination.
11:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Staff at a hotel requested assistance in removing people from a room. Members attended and spoke to a male in the room who appeared under the influence of a drug but also advised that others who were in the room had already left. Staff were advised they are allowed to refuse service.
February 22
7:51 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a suspicious truck abandoned on a lease site west of the Pembina River. Member attended and had the truck towed as it had been reported stolen in Edmonton. Truck examined, but negative for any evidence.
1:59 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant requested assistance in locating a vehicle registered to his deceased brother; vehicle is believed to be in possession of an acquaintance. Under investigation.
3:06 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported a break and enter to a gas plant that occurred overnight. A pump, jerry cans and batteries were stolen.
11:34 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 759/Hwy 39 – Members returning from the previous call attempted a traffic stop on a suspicious black VW. The vehicle did not stop and fled east on Hwy 39. Drayton Valley members followed and communicated with a Breton RCMP member who was able to deploy a spike belt, but the vehicle swerved at the officer and continued. Members were unable to re-locate the vehicle.
February 23
7:59 a.m. – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant reported his truck stolen overnight; truck was a white GMC 5500 crew cab work truck with picker and toolboxes. Under investigation.
9:14 a.m. – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant reported that in December he had an impact tool stolen, and now someone was trying to link it to a manufacturer’s app online, with the location showing in the Drayton Valley area. Complainant called back advising he contacted the shop involved who reported an employee found it on the side of the road. The shop had agreed to ship the tool back to the complainant.
11:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported someone took his phone, some pills and cash from his bank account. Complainant returned later to report finding his phone in his car.
12:46 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported a porta-potti stolen from a jobsite, occurred within the previous three hours. Complainant had confirmed that the rental company had not picked it up. Under investigation though police have little to go on.
6:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being threatened by an acquaintance. Member investigated and documented the incident as the complainant did not want further action.
February 24
6:39 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 Ave – Complainant reported an unknown male at her door, attempting to get in. Male could be heard saying “Are you stupid? Open the door!” The male, described as mid-50’s in a camo jacket, then left in a dark coloured SUV. Complainant suspected the male was at the wrong house. Members made extensive patrols but could not locate the suspect or SUV.
7:01 a.m. – Yellowhead County – Complainant reported cable stolen from a remote lease site sometime over the previous week.
8:05 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his truck had been stolen between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. from a hotel parking lot. Truck is a maroon 2007 Chevy. The truck was recovered two days later by Breton RCMP missing some parts. Under investigation.
3:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Assist Edmonton Police with executing a DNA order. The male attended the detachment and provided DNA as required.
3:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported fraudulent activity on his credit card. Under investigation.
6:16 p.m. – Tomahawk – Complainant reported a male would be leaving her residence and had been drinking. A plate was provided but did not match the vehicle that was described. Member unable to locate the vehicle or male.
7:02 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a family member was blocking access to a shared field access against the direction of the courts. Member spoke to the complainant and provided some suggestions including obtaining a court order for access.
7:37 p.m. – Brazeau County – Cynthia area – Complainant reported locating a partially burned truck on a lease site. Member attended and confirmed the truck had been reported stolen on February 23. Truck recovered and owner advised.
11:12 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a truck had been following her and then lost control and ended up in the ditch upside down. Members attended and eventually located the driver in the area. The driver was issued a provincial impaired driving suspension as well as violation tickets.
February 25
10:18 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant requested advice relating to a complex domestic situation. Member suggested obtaining an Emergency Protection Order. Complainant obtained the order which was served on the male by another detachment.
10:36 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported ongoing bullying issues involving her child and two other students at a local school. Under investigation.
10:59 a.m. – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant reported being notified by a third party that her truck, reported stolen in Leduc on February 20, was parked in the area. Member patrolled the area and located the truck parked on 63 Street; the truck was towed to be held for a forensic examination. Under investigation.
11:09 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported her email was compromised and an unknown person has been sending things to a family member. Under investigation.
3:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported someone put sugar in his truck’s gas tank. Member attended and observed a white powder in the fuel filler. Under investigation.
