The Town of Drayton Valley has awarded a $500 credit to a local family’s utility bill, the Friesens, as a part of its annual P.O.U.R. (Preserve Our Ultimate Resource) Program.
The program is a water conservation initiative for residents receiving water services from the town who install approved fixtures or appliances that reduce the amount of water used.
Eligible fixtures and appliances include:
-
WaterSense certified toilet
-
Water pressure reducers
-
Energy Star certified washing machines
-
Energy Star certified dishwashers
-
Energy Star certified water heaters
If one of these is installed before Dec. 31, you may qualify for a $100 credit on your town utility bill, although that’s limited to one credit of $100 per year, per address. Each upgrade also secures one entry into a draw for a $500 credit to your bill.
Commercial customers can also participate; each replacement of one to 10 units will qualify your business for a $100 credit.
More information and the application form are available online.
