November 27
8:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a female harassing and threatening staff at a social agency. Under investigation.
10:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant turned in some tools that fell out of a white truck near McDonalds.
12:54 p.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Complainant reported suspects pulled wire from the dump and were burning it in the area. Members attended but did not locate any active fires. Warnings issued to possible suspects.
1:03 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Member on patrol stopped a vehicle that appeared to be trying to evade him. The driver was issued tickets for misuse of plate and operating without insurance. The female passenger was arrested on two outstanding warrants.
November 28
6:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a youth assaulted by another youth. Member attended and determined the incident had been minor. Under investigation.
7:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported his 2024 Toyota SUV stolen. Members investigated and the SUV was able to be tracked through Toyota. The truck was recovered in Rocky Mountain House RCMP jurisdiction, and a male was charged. Do not leave your vehicle running unattended with the keys in it.
8:00 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Members on patrol located a suspicious pickup truck and suspected it was related to the earlier stolen SUV. When a traffic stop was attempted, the truck fled. Assistance was provided by RCMP Air Services, and the vehicle was tracked. A tire deflation device was utilized (also known as a spike belt) and two suspects abandoned the truck on a rural property. A 23-year-old male and 19-year-old female were arrested at the scene and held for telephone bail hearings. The male was remanded in custody by a justice of the peace, while the female was released to appear in court. The truck had allegedly been stolen from Crossfield on November 19, and there was no connection between this incident and the stolen SUV.
November 29
12:17 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members responded to a report of an assault at the bar. A male had been punched in the mouth, and a suspect was identified, but the potential victim did not want to proceed with charges.
2:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported two males fighting near the bar. Members attended but both suspects had left. Both were located but the potential victim did not want to proceed with charges.
4:06 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported a male had broken a window on a van in an apartment parking lot. Members attended and located the suspect hiding under an adjacent vehicle. A 19-year-old was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on charges of mischief to a motor vehicle and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. They were released by a justice of the peace to appear in court.
7:55 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol checked a vehicle seen parked near the old HW Pickup school location. The passenger was found to be on a release order with a condition of 24-hour house arrest, but it was also determined he had only been released from custody hours earlier and so was told to get to his approved residence.
1:35 p.m. – Lodgepole – Complainant reported parking his truck at a location he thought was appropriate and then being confronted by a male who told him he was trespassing. The male obtained the keys from the truck and demanded a donation to get the keys back. Member attended and explained to the suspect that he was potentially committing a criminal offence, and he couldn’t demand payment. The keys were returned and the two males shook hands and apologized to one another. The male at the location was provided some guidance on what he could legally do in such situations.
7:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a breach of a no-contact order that occurred during the parade. Member determined there was no breach as it is the complainant on conditions, but the file is under investigation due to alleged threats made toward the complainant.
9:47 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported someone may have been sleeping in a barn on part of a property where their son normally resides. Members found signs that someone had been there, but no one was located on the property. A male who is on a release order with conditions to reside there was also not on the property but is believed he is no longer in the area.
November 30
1:40 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a male who was being removed from the bar assaulted staff in the process. A male was identified and has been charged with assault.
11:43 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported an unlocked SUV was entered overnight and insurance and registration documents were stolen.
12:33 p.m. – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported that around 7 a.m. someone flashed their lights at him while driving a semi in the area, and then threw a coffee cup breaking the window of his truck.
12:47 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported fraudulent activity from her bank account. Complainant has opened a new account and the bank involved has reimbursed her for any losses.
3:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Staff requested removal of a male from the bar, and the male had also requested staff call police so he could speak to officers. Members attended and removed the male without issue and determined that he was having difficulty with some recent life events but otherwise okay.
December 1
6:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Member requested to assist firefighters dealing with a fuel spill. Driver had stopped for fuel and found out the gas tank had been drilled. Under investigation, unclear where the drilling occurred.
7:46 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St – Complainant requested a well-being check on a friend experiencing some difficulties after a recent break up. Members located the male and spoke to him, determining that he was not suicidal. A referral was made to RPACT (rural police and crisis team) for follow up.
12:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50A St – Complainant reported a Seacan open at a business. Members attended and observed the lock had been broken but it was unclear if anything was missing as the business was closed. Member returned the following day and spoke to staff who are determining what is missing. Under investigation.
1:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported to another RCMP detachment that she had been sexually assaulted by her ex about a month ago. A male was arrested and released on conditions and with date to appear in court.
3:58 p.m. – Lodgepole – Complainant reported a female was jumping in front of traffic at the south entrance to Lodgepole. Member attended and could not locate the female in the area.
7:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that his truck had been stolen overnight from his hotel parking lot. The truck was recovered around midnight after it was spotted by Edmonton Police and fled, leading officers on a chase that ended in Stony Plain. A male and female were arrested. Under investigation.
December 2
6:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that someone tried to steal his 2003 Chevy pickup. Damage resulted to the door and ignition. Under investigation.
8:13 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reported observing four cows on the road. Member attended the area, but no cows were located, and neighbouring properties were checked but no owners identified. Perhaps the cows had been hitchhiking and obtained a ride.
8:23 a.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported that while he was out of province his house was broken into, and his guns were stolen from a gun safe. Under investigation.
2:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members assisted paramedics with an elderly male who passed away at his residence. Not suspicious, Medical Examiner consulted and will not be investigating further.
2:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Emergency protection order received to be served on a local male. The male was located and served as required.
6:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported a female sleeping in the lobby of an apartment building. Member attended and the female left without issue.
8:16 p.m. – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported that sometime in the past few hours his house was broken into. Complainant had been out of the residence and was sure he locked his door but returned home to find it unlocked and open. Member checked the residence and found no intruders and no signs of forced entry. Complainant did not immediately notice anything missing.
8:52 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that he was feeling suicidal. Members attended and spoke to the male who was apprehended under the mental health act and transported to a designated mental health facility for treatment.
9:53 p.m. – Lodgepole – Member attended a property to assist firefighters with an outbuilding on fire on a vacant property. Cause of the fire cause is under investigation.
11:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Third party complaint that a tenant in an apartment building was consuming illicit drugs in his suite. The reported information was inadequate for police to take any action, and it is known to members that the male tenant is being evicted.
December 3
4:19 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his work truck stolen from in front of his residence. The truck was abandoned and recovered west of town with assistance from GPS tracking and is being held for a forensic examination. Do not leave keys in unlocked vehicles.
4:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Complainant reported a window broken on an SUV parked behind a business. Member attended to investigate, but unable to identify any suspects. Owner contacted, believes that change was stolen.
9:22 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol observed a black SUV run two stop signs. A traffic stop was conducted and all occupants identified. Member observed a male passenger known to have warrants; he was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded into custody by a justice of the peace. A female passenger was arrested. A search located fentanyl and methamphetamine in her backpack; she was held for a telephone bail hearing on a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking; she was subsequently released by a justice of the peace with a court date. The driver of the SUV was issued several violation tickets.
9:18 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that the former owner of a business he recently purchased continues to come back and take items he claims he is entitled to. Member advised that this was a civil issue, but did speak to the former owner and advised him he was no longer welcome on the property and to deal with any remaining issues through a lawyer.
3:09 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a fence cut to a business yard and some wire stolen. Under investigation.
3:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Staff reported a female wandering into units but not apparently seeking medical attention. Member attended and had the known female leave the building.
December 4
3:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Property representative for a business reported an attempted break and enter. Alarm had been triggered and on attendance the owner’s found suspects attempted to enter, but were unsuccessful.
5:44 a.m. – 51 St – Complainant reported his truck stolen from his driveway. Complainant was woken by the horn and looked out to see it driving away. The truck was located about an hour later when another complainant reported a truck abandoned in his driveway. Under investigation.
