October 23
1:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported an unwanted homeless male refusing to leave a store. Member attended and issued the male a trespass notice.
1:52 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported a BB gun missing from his apartment after he let a female crash at his place. Unable to prove the female was responsible and members were unable to locate her.
3:04 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported his son was intoxicated and trashing the house. Members attended and arrested the son who was held until sober and released, as per the request of his father.
4:15 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reported someone had trespassed on his land as there were unexplained tire tracks into the back of his property. Unclear when it happened, complainant advised to call police if he notices anyone suspicious.
4:43 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that he gave his credit card and drivers license numbers to a person who called claiming to be with a company investing in AI. Complainant realized it was a scam and cancelled the card involved. Advice was given on how to further protect himself.
October 24
11:11 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported seeing a suspicious male who appeared to be scoping out his property, as well as cars and other neighbours’ property. Member was able to identify the male from video surveillance but there appeared to be no actual offence. Complainant told to call when the male is in the area.
11:50 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a gravel truck had spilled part of its load onto the highway. Member attended and assisted with traffic while the highway maintenance contractor cleaned up the area.
4:45 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant attended the detachment to turn in a rusty, loaded pistol she located when walking at the river. Unknown how long the gun had been in the water or where it came from. Under investigation.
5:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics with a male found deceased. Death does not appear suspicious, though the Medical Examiner continues to investigate.
8:10 p.m. – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant reported a male acting erratically while driving an SUV. Complainant was able to provide a location where the vehicle parked. Members attended and arrested two males inside a business as they were under the influence of alcohol and causing issues. Both were lodged in cells to sober up. A provincial impaired driving suspension as well as several tickets were issued..
8:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Dispatch received a 911 call from detachment cells. One of the males arrested on the previous file had been placed in the phone room to speak to a lawyer. Conveniently, he had previously refused to identify himself but provided his name to the call taker. The 911 call is believed to be a result of a belief of entitlement.
10:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported that another female punched her in the face during an altercation. Members attended the location but found neither female present. A statement was obtained later, and charges are pending.
October 25
5:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported seeing a flashlight shine in his window just around midnight the previous night. Complainant suspected a male who is on conditions to have no-contact with him, but that could not be confirmed.
5:44 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reported an SUV abandoned on an island in the river. Member attended, SUV locked and registered to a male from Edmonton. Member found a note on the dash stating, “gone canoeing.”
October 26
12:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported a neighbour was throwing things and yelling in his residence. Members attended and found that the neighbour was yelling at his dogs to come in and upset with the behaviour of his tenants. He agreed to discontinue his disruptive behaviour.
3:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported that two acquaintances entered a residence and assaulted her. Charges are pending once the suspects are located.
3:59 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male was asked to leave a store, and did so, but went outside and had a “tantrum.” Member located the male and issued him a trespass notice to not return.
4:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a male was at her residence wanting a cat back. Complainant further reported the male was sending others seeking the cat and sending people threatening messages about her. Member was heading to the scene “right meow” but was dispatched to a priority file; complainant confirmed the male had left. Under investigation.
5:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her grandson called and told her another youth followed him home from the Skatepark and was throwing rocks at his window. Member attended and found no youth in the area. Under investigation to follow-up with the suspect and parents.
5:11 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics with an aggressive patient. The male was reportedly suicidal and had taken off from the residence. Members located the male who was taken to hospital for treatment due to possible consumption of pills.
October 27
8:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant reported that someone entered her truck overnight and stole some loose change and a naloxone kit.
8:31 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – File opened to charge a male who failed to appear in court.
10:01 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – File opened to charge a male who failed to attend court.
10:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Members attended to assist staff with an aggressive male patient. Members were able to calm the male who was then transported to another facility.
11:49 a.m. – Parkland County – RR 70 – Complainant reported several incidents of suspicious activity at her residence. Under investigation.
12:58 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Hwy 621 – RCMP responded to reports of a collision on Hwy 22, at the intersection of Hwy 621. The investigation is ongoing but preliminary information suggests a semi-truck was traveling north on Hwy 22 when a minivan, who had been traveling east on Hwy 621, came across the intersection in front of the semi-truck, resulting in a collision. The passenger of the minivan, a 67-year-old female from Cynthia was declared deceased on scene and the driver was brought to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
October 28
1:13 a.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor Bridge – Complainant reported a vehicle hit the cable safety barrier by the bridge. Member attended and could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath. Driver provided two samples of his breath; both resulted in a “caution.” As a result, he was issued a three-day provincial impaired driving suspension and his truck was impounded.
7:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male acting erratically at a gas station, fighting the air in the parking lot. Member attended but the male was gone. Members are very aware of this male and will speak to him when located.
8:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 Ave – Complainant reported that sometime overnight someone stole a wheel off her car, leaving it on a jack.
10:19 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported that his car had been stolen, though he did not know until he received a call advising it had been towed elsewhere after being located roadside with no tires. Complainant had been unaware as both he and his ex suspected the car had been repossessed. Member suggested he speak to his lender and advise of the car’s location. No suspects either in Drayton Valley or where the car was recovered, unclear exactly when the car went missing.
10:52 a.m. – Tomahawk – Complainant reported graffiti spray-painted on the Agricultural Hall, occurred on October 23 in the afternoon. Member was provided video, but suspects could not be identified, though two younger adults or older teen males were captured. One was on a skateboard and wearing a plaid shirt, the other was wearing a black hoodie with a white logo.
1:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported suspicious activity observed during recent pipeline inspections. Under investigation.
6:25 p.m. – Brazeau County – Easyford area – Complainant reported that a neighbour was seen on his property, riding an ATV and doing donuts. Member attended, suspect not located but his mother was spoken to. No apparent damage to the lawn, suspect to be spoken to.
10:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her father was beating up her brother. Members attended and found the father had left and the brother had no apparent injuries. CFS referral sent.
October 29
8:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male in a white Honda car had been making a scene in a fast-food drive-thru; possibly because the person in front was taking too long to place their order. The male sped off once he received his order. Members spoke to the Honda driver regarding his drive-thru etiquette and told him to slow down. Or perhaps he could just park and go inside.
10:50 a.m. – Lodgepole – Complainant reported a van parked on the street for the past month, causing a traffic hazard. Complainant stated he spoke to the owner, but they refused to move it. File forwarded to Brazeau County Peace Officers.
3:13 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reported a yellow Dodge Charger SRT with tinted windows and no license plate visible had been driving at excessive speed on Hwy 621. Member unable to locate the vehicle.
4:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her niece had allegedly been kicked by her stepfather. Under investigation.
5:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a female acquaintance had been at her residence intoxicated and smashed a vase in her driveway. Video showed the event but when members attended the suspects residence, she did not answer the door despite likely being home. Under investigation.
9:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that the female from the previous file was having a heated argument with her daughter over property. A second call came in shortly after from the intoxicated female’s daughter reporting she had been assaulted. Members attended and arrested the intoxicated mother for assaulting her adult daughter; she was released in the morning when sober and with a court date.
