Brazeau County incumbent Reeve Bart Guyon has been elected for another four-year term, and says he’s looking forward to trying to bring some relief to residents.
Guyon says he is catching his breath after an intense campaign run which saw him walk, to his estimate, 60 miles going door-to-door.
When it’s time to jump in, he says, he will work to enhance the value Brazeau County offers to its residents and the province.
“We’ve been swimming upstream in this community for a long time,” he comments. “We’ve had so many wrecks in the last 10 years that people are a little exhausted, and they really are looking for some certainty in this uncertain world. They need a break.”
Guyon intends to introduce projects that will reduce county expenses in the long run, like solar panel plots to reduce energy consumption, for example.
He also looks forward to working with the new candidates of Brazeau’s council.
“We’ve got some youth, and some energy and some new blood coming on to the table, so I’m pretty excited to be working with them,” he says.
The next regular meeting of Brazeau County council is scheduled for Nov. 4.
