Forever Canadian, an organization asking Albertans whether they believe the province should remain in Canada, is in Drayton Valley Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, to collect signatures for its petition.
The citizen-initiated petition needs 300,000 in-person signatures by the end of October to meet the threshold set by Elections Alberta for a potential referendum to proceed.
The hope is that a strong result will communicate a clear message, reduce uncertainty and let communities focus on building a stronger future within Canada.
Eligible voters can sign in person with their name and address as they appear on the registered voter list.
If you’d like to learn more or sign the petition, Thomas Lukaszuk and the organization will be at the Unity Bus Stop (2054 50 Street) on Oct. 23 from 1:45-2:45 p.m.
