A Duffield man has been arrested following a complaint of erratic driving in Spruce Grove.
On the morning of Oct. 8, Parkland RCMP received a complaint about a black Dodge being driven erratically and officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. It sped away, but thanks to reports received from the public, police were able to locate it abandoned and blocking travel lanes on Highway 16A.
Upon arrival, officers were able to take the suspect into custody without incident, at which point police discovered the vehicle had been reported as stolen.
As a result, a 24-year-old Duffield resident has been charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Breach of release order (x3)
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
- Fight from peace officer
- Resist/obstruct peace officer
He was remanded into custody and is next scheduled to appear through the Alberta Court of Justice on Oct. 22.
