RCMP in Drayton Valley are reporting a downward trend in the number of crimes taking place in the community.
According to the Drayton Valley RCMP detachment, crime in July was down by 34 per cent in total, when compared to the same time last year. Meanwhile, there has also been a 43 per cent decrease in property crimes.
When further broken down, Mounties say that statistic leads to 50 fewer instances of break and enters, 36 fewer instances of motor vehicle thefts, and 108 fewer instances of thefts under $5000.
There have been some increases, however, as police note a four per cent increase in persons crimes.
