Tuck in your tail feathers because it’s time for the fifth annual Drayton Valley Turkey Trot.
On Saturday, Oct. 11, residents can run or walk 5 km of trail at the Pembina Nordic Ski Centre. The trail consists of a single track and a grass-covered wide track.
There will also be a 1 km kids’ race, after which all participants will get a finisher medal and a cookie.
Attendees can also expect prizes for the best-dressed turkey.
In the 5 km race, first, second and third place runners will be named for both males and females in the 18+, 15-17, 12-14, and under 12 age groups.
Bib pickup and registration runs 9:30-10:15 a.m. Kids run the 1 km trot at 10:30 a.m. and the 5 km takes off at 11 a.m.
The cost to register for the 5 km on the day of is $50 for those 18 and up and $20 for youth. Entry to the 1 km turkey trot is $10.
